IC 745

Hi all,

I've got a line on an IC 745 for short money (like <$300). Anyone have any thoughts on this rig? This is essentially a first rig. I just can't bring myself to drop a kilobuck on a new rig as much as I'd like to...

I trust the owner and he says it's all functional.

What do you think?

I have a IC-735, it's not the same but from a similar vintage. For the price, it sounds good if it's all working.

I had an IC-735 also, early 90's, because I couldn't afford the xtra for the 745. It'll be a great rig, just make sure you functional test it.

I'm picking this up tomorrow. $250 for the radio + another $25 for a 20A Power supply.

I'm expecting this to be a fully functioning rig as it is coming from a guy who writes for ARRL (the microwave columns).

Damn! I want to get this thing on the air, but I've got to get an antenna up (I picked up a G5RV) and run some coax... not gonna happen tonight... or tomorrow. AGGH!
