My local gun shop got this in and called me up because they know I have a weakness for 6.5x55 rifles. The Bastards.

It's a CZ 550 FS. New in the box. I can't think of a better walking around deer rifle.

I picked up a 6.5 X 55 Husqvarna m-38 sporterized a couple months back. It was sporterized at the factory and had the muzzle shortened and the bolt bent. At least that is what I was told. Anyway got it at a good price and love that cartridge. Heres a couple pictures, if anyone has ever heard of it any advice would be great, no import marks anywhere on the rifle and all the numbers match.

A M38 Husqvarna has a bent bolt! It was issued that way. Pic bottom:

It does indeed look like a sporterized M38. I don't think it was done at the Husquvarna factory though. The stock looks a little too typically American. I don't think they would have left the original rear sight on it, either. I would say it was done by a local gunsmith somewhere here in the USA. Bolt-action military rifles were a dime a dozen back in the 50's, 60's, and 70's and were being sporterized by the thousands. A nice, cheap, deer rifle, or so the convential wisdom went.

Here is a pic of my Husquvarna. These were built in the 1950's in Sweden for commercial import. Note the thinner profile barrel, continental stock, ramp front sight, etc..

And here I thought I was the only swingin' dick on NES that had a Swede sniper!

The things you learn on NES. Thanks for the info. Like I said it was a good deal, less than $150. As to the comment about the see through rings, they do suck, but hey it came that way. Its my first 6.5X55 but I'm sure there will be more.
