I just picked up a kahr PM9. It was kind of an impulse buy. Just wondering what experiences you all have had with them. Good and bad. Much appreciated.

Thank you,
Eugene

Excellent gun IMHO.

Give it a good cleaning/lube and rack the slide a few dozen times before shooting and you should be good to go. I've got 500+ rounds through mine and it's been rock solid and very easy to shoot accurately at reasonable distances. A Pearce Grip extension and a Talon stick on grip panel really help with the comfort factor. I carry mine in a PJ Holster and it hides under any T-shirt.

Mine has been flawless once broken in. Had four malfunctions with in the first 100 rounds. After that I've had about 300 more flawless rounds through it. I've had great groups within 15 yards. Trigger has a nice smooth pull that I grew to like once I got use to it. It's much easier to shoot with the pinky extensions but I took them off because it makes it tougher for me to draw from the pocket. It is not my primary carry or "favorite" but it is great for the what it is. I only carry it in my pocket, and it's great to grab on the go. I also use it to and from work, its easier to remove from my pocket and lock it up in my truck safe. I've found I prefer the extra pocket space and have no problem concealing my other carry pieces IWB. The PM9 still finds its way in my pocket randomly throughout the week.

Love mine. Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel +P has been flawless.

Thats great. Im glad you all have had good luck with them.

This one was used and filthy. Im guessing it has already been broken in. I purchased some Hornaday 115 PDX. I will shoot a couple of mags of that tommorow and see what happens.

IMO too, it has to be one of the best concealable 9mm on the market. ergo's on it are awesome specially with a hogue grip. For me it makes me carry more often especially during the hot months.

Do most of you have the mass version with the thumb saftey. Does that version also have a mag disconect?

I have the free state version. No safety or mag disconnect, but I did pay extra. (Thanks Martha.)

FWIW, I don't think the MA version has a magazine disconnect either. I'm not 100% sure about that though.

Are the triggers any different on the mass version. The trigger seems light for a pocket gun. Way better than the LC9.

No, but the MA version has an external safety (also known as an "AG Lever" or "Martha Switch.")

Had mine a little over a week now and after 1 trip to the range im pretty happy with it, been pocket carrying it but wouldnt mind finding a good iwb holster for it for when im wearing jeans (I dont like to pocket carry in jeans).

This.

I pocket carry it (even with jeans). Even though the manual says it needs to be broken in (I can't recall if it's 100 or 200 rounds) I have only had one issue. The one issue during the break-in was a squib that I blame on the ammo (WWB). IMO the gun has been flawless. I'm in a free state so I can't comment on the MA version. I will rub in the fact that I didn't have to pay the stupid high MA prices to get the free state version.

Love it. Most frequently carried of my collection. The only thing more comfortable to wear is my S&W442, but that only has 5 shots and can't hit the side of a barn. The PM9 is precision.

A fellow shooter carried a Kahr MK-9 which he let me shoot. I was impressed by it's accuracy and their unique trigger. I opted for the PM-9 since the MK-9 was a bit too heavy for pocket carry. My PM-9 is gtreat, realible and very accurate for such a short barreled pistol - I can readilly place all 7 shots into a 3 inch circle at 7 to 10 yards.

Try the Concealment Solutions Black Mamba http://www.concealmentsolutions.com/blmasubco1.html It is similar to the Crossbreed, but I think it has better adjustments and I can have it ride deeper in my waistband for better concealment. Jason Christianson is a great individual and if you use the code "gundudes" you get a 10% discount so it would be less expensive than a crossbreed. I also bought Concealment Solutions Kydex reinforced belt. Very nice as well.

BTW: I have the PM45 and love it!

I have a PM-9 and am very happy with it. Every time I take it to the range I am surprised by it's accuracy. I have yet to have a malfunction with about 400 rounds through it.

I would rather carry a bigger gun, but sometimes you just can't. I can always drop my Kahr in my pocket with a spare magazine and I have 14 rounds of 9mm+P hollow point and it is virtually undetectable.

Great little gun.

I have the kahr pocket holster (was going to get a desanti superfly but what's the point) and a cross breed mini tuck

So every one here thinks its a great gun. I wonder why groups on other forms have more of a mixed view. Were there issues early on that were solved by the time the mass version came about?

I have a CM9 and the only thing I don't like about it are the mags don't drop cleanly. I have about 6 mags for it and only one will drop. I've read on the kahrtalk forums that it's a known issue and people squueze their mags thinner and wax them to get them to drop more cleanly. I worked on one a little bit but didn't see much difference.

I wish it weren't that way. I like the gun otherwise, but for a carry gun, quick mag changes are high on my list so it's turned into a safe queen.
