Looking to a NH FFL to accept a Pre Ban Glock mag from a customer who is scared to ship to Massachusetts - or just a guy in NH who I can pay to accept

And look at that reptiles thread, has dominated the top of this page now for days

a few things come to my mind as I sell high end marine electronics during the off-season, and I am always astounded at what people are willing to pay
1 there’s an ass for every seat
2 a fool and his money will soon be parted
3 you don’t need brains to have money

If I “were” to carry a standard capacity semi automatic handgun I would never concern myself with magazine capacity/law

If I’m using my handgun in self-defense, I’m getting arrested anyway. Go ahead arrest me for the magazine too, because at the scene, the cop isn’t gonna care if it’s post or pre-ban. 😉
I’m also carrying to assure my survival I am not going to bank that on overpriced 30 year old plastic magazines

But refer to #1-#3

Where are you guys finding these metal-lined polymer Glock mags that are falling apart after 30 years? If you keep them loaded and don’t stress the springs they will literally last a lifetime.

Seems like a cope for people that don’t want to “over-pay” for mags, and/or don’t have the risk tolerance to carry new ones.

I bought $900 BCM lowers at the Mill, that are now $395. So yeah.

And I realllllly over-paid for things at Zero Hour until I starting getting the “regular” discount which was like 30% less lol

The friend I do clean-outs with occasionally, his "go to" regular FFL sold him 2 $500 lowers in 2016 in the "grace period" following the Healey mandate. Guy doesn't follow the law changes, and didn't read well enough into it. Took him at his word, and trusted a friend.

Fast forward to early last spring when we start hanging out socially instead of just for work. I inform him of the reality of the Healey Mandate, and about two weeks later the old "FFL friend" calls up looking to offload some stock. specifically, an M1 Garand that is in great shape and all original. Needed to get $1200 for it. He offered him the two lowers plus $200 and the stupid f*** didn't even remember ripping him off, and had the balls to tell him how they are only worth maybe $100.

Friendship ended that day.

Good gun shops can be hard to find

Nobody who wants firepower wants a 10 round mag.

A G17 holds 18 rounds. That’s almost double a cripple mag.

I don’t plan on getting into a gunfight but if I did I’d want 18 rounds.
Let's put this to the test. Find any local IDPA or USPSA match. Bring your G17 with pre-ban mags; I'll bring a G43 with 6rd mags. Let's see who wins.

No, everyone does not know this. There mught be corner cases on this but I refuse to believe this is a real thing beyond some % of broken guns, otherwise I would have heard about it. This sounds like a Gen4 phantasm thing, honestly. We have johnny 1 glocks in this thread saying they suffered but as a person who has in totality owned over 35 glocks at this point(most in 9mm), i have a real hard time buying into it.

Glock has a high enough sample rate that a 1% fail in 10rd mag use has an APPEARANCE of being a problem but in in reality is likely much ado about nothing. The overwhelming majority of guns don't have issues with these magazines.
I'm about to switch to different carry ammo so I'll have my old HST 124+p to shoot up. Maybe I'll run it all through my 10rd mags and see if I experience any of these mythical malfunctions.

If you have to pop someone in self defense the hangmans noose is not going to be predicated on the legal status of a stupid box that hold ammo. Get a grip. There are much more important things to worry about.
The only exception to this is if cops are looking at your gear for some other reason. E.g. Karen saw your gun when you reached for something on the top shelf and called them; you allegedly match someone's description and get stopped; you're in an accident and paramedics have the cops take your gun; stuff like that. Pre-ban mags won't save you from legal trouble in those situations - any cop that cares about mag capacity laws will jam you up anyways and let the court sort it out.

Less a shop and more a guy with an "office space" built into his home. He's just a dirt bag who ripped off a friend, and I hope anyone else he blatantly lied to realizes as such.

WRT #3, 99.99999% of the time that only happens if ownership changes.
I’ve seen it with number two as well

I will say I’ve noticed over the past 15 years or so as the old guard, retires and dies gun shops have become much brighter and friendlier lol

I'm just following the law and filling a niche.

No more than legal machine guns.

The machine gun laws need to be followed, also.

Is anyone critical of charging $30,000 for a M16 that costs only $1,200?

I don't set the prices.

The market does.

I only sell a handful of pre ban mags per year so I'm not running a big operation here.

Why can't you just admit it? I've sold plenty of shit on here that I signigifantly over priced. I have no problem admitting it.

You're not selling at "market prices." You're selling at prices that are several times more and counting on an idiot to come by every so often. That's not the market price.

This threads gay.

It is not about the price.

I’ll admit it I did bad bad things with a handful of budget built ARs I had amassed during the Healy scare
That was the only point in my life where I found it quite easy to sell firearms

I’m curious why people here in ma want a pre ban Glock mag? All Glocks are illegal in ma that were made after 1998…

Are there that many pre 1998 Glocks out there???
Time flies. As of Sept. 13 this year, pre-ban mags will be 30 years old. No need to use one in a CCW now.

I’ve never bothered carrying preban mags, just 10 round mags. But that’s just me.

What self respecting gun owner in Massachusetts, would go through so much effort to rip off other Massachusetts gun owners, to the degree that you do?
Then have the audacity to come on NES and offer people $20 to help you do it?
Well, there is a member here that responded to an ad on ArfCom for free pre-ban AR15 mags. NES'er replied in the ad that he was not going to resell them, so the guy sent the mags to him.

Guess what he did?

Reptile is honest in his endeavors, others here not so much.

I got a free one off there.

I still have it. I’ll give it away before I sell it…

According to some, I must be doing Gods work. I hand out Preban Glock magazines to my FFL's Gunbroker buyers all the time. "LEO restricted" marked or u notch; makes no difference to me.

Lol overyhyping the risk IMHO is not that honest.

It's like when I hear tales of shitty MA gun dealers and all the shop owners keep doing is talking fear porn to the customer to get them to buy something "cuz the ban might be
tomorrow".

It's "extra greasy" on a good day even if it falls short of being actual fraud.

No difference between that and the dude at Zero Hour and later Gartman(I think) who would be hyping a gun ban, get them while you can etc.. I used to just listen and laugh, but some people ate that shit up. A fool and his money and all that.. It's just that on here you can call him full of shit etc. Reptile is kinda funny and I don't really take him at face value when he is hawking his wares, he is playing to his audience IMO

Show me in my magazine ad (below in signature line) where I’m overhyping risk.

I’m only describing the mags. No mention of laws.
