I recently acquired a really nice m1 carbine, I kind of want to get some m1a1 paratrooper furniture with the folding stock. Is it worth searching out "authentic" stuff or are there reputable manufacturers making new (reliable) stuff you'd recommend?

Yep best go repro, but look for one that has proper cutout on side of stock for butt when folded. Haven't looked in years, but was a company at one point that made nice ones .

If you want it to be "original" .I would search the hundreds of forums and find an original stock. JMO.
