Maryland AWB case Snope v Brown going to SCOTUS. (Formerly Bianchi v Brown & Bianchi v Frosh)

Now we have to wait and hope it makes the docket next year, if we're lucky. Watch the Statehouse sessions in all the deep blue states this year. Here comes a plethora of unconstitutional gun laws for sure. Why not? These states will be very emboldened with the Supreme Courts weakness

If they were planning on holding it till next year's session would they need to inform the attorneys for the parties? Or can it just slip into a void like this with no orders given? Like they are going to put in their collective backpocket and forget about it.

Mind-boggling. Completely mind-boggling. So the Supreme Court had the interest and the 4 Justices to grant Cert. in Bianchi v. Frosh and then gave strict guidance to the 4th circuit to make another decision because they were wrong and the 4th circuit plays games with the case to come up with the same exact ruling. Now that case makes it back to the Supreme Court as Snopes v. Brown and the Court had no interest in taking the case!?!? What gives

America ain’t America any more.
No one gives a f*** about plebs like us.

Seeing the court balk at striking down AWB shows that the Republican party has no intent to undo any gun control laws passed by Democrats. They'll say they will on the campaign trail, but like Obamacare they've no intention of following thru.

Best course of action is to stop thinking your vote matters, that the law is equally enforced, and ignore the laws.

Everyone should try to buy as many Glock Switches as they can. Hand them out at Christmas parties, playgrounds... tell the government to go to Hell.

I've been holding off on buying something waiting to see what the court does, but since the court appears to be doing nothing I'm not waiting on these fags in robes any longer.
I did worse than that, bought my son (in MA) a M&P FPC for christmas. I was so confident about Snope that I got the model with adjustable stock and threaded barrel

When the court denies this case, it will basically be the courts way of saying that the 2nd Amendment ends at semi automatics, effectively legislating from the bench that states that wish to ban them may in fact do so.

Heller and Macdonald never touched the question, they simply stated that wholes classes of firearms (in that case handguns) cannot be banned, it never said that semi automatic handguns couldn't be.

No doubt we will see the anti states move as fast as NY and CT did after Sandy Hook, but it will be on all semi autos and those who registered their guns will be the first visited in the door to door confiscations. They will of course wait for the next major mass school shooting to do it.

Australia style gun control will not be nationwide, instead it'll be state by state.

Thanks SCOTUS!

I’m predicting a per curiam decision in our favor within the next few weeks.
While this would be entirely possible since pretty much all relative facts are in evidence.
But per curiam is supposed to be relatively rare.
And per curiams are normally short, concise and not ground breaking.
Snope is likely outside the scope of a simple opinion

And aren’t those decisions generally considered unanimous? Doubt we’d see that.

Massachusetts is already well on its way to doing that. The ground work was accomplished with Chapter 135.

With the “Assault Style Weapons Ban” and the forth coming “Approved Long Rifle Roster” they can pretty much ban anything they want at the drop of a hat.

We will definitely see States banning handguns going forward. Why not? The Court takes a case then tells the lower court they were wrong and to get it right, the lower Court spits and then slaps the Supreme Court across the face and the Supreme Court backs down like cowards. Why wouldn't States challenge Heller and Mcdonald now?

I simply don't get how they can do "nothing" at the moment. 4 conferences, and then nothing. No denial. No cert. No postponement. Nothing. Don't they have to do something - even if it's an announcement they are postponing?

Quick drive north and it fixes 90% of that problem.
