5-7 miles if i remember correctly from hunter's safety.

FM 23-5 U.S. Rifle, Cal. .30 M1 dated 1940, states M2 Ball has an approximate max range of 3,450 yards, and M1 Ball has a approximate max range of 5,500 yards. Cal. .30 M1 has a bullet weight of ~ 173gr. and a muzzle velocity of 2647 fps. M2 has a weight of ~ 152gr. and a MV of 2805 fps.
