Mk 12 mod 1 or a Recce build?

Try some hot 55 grain or lighter projectiles for sh!ts and giggles. They'll probably go 'poof' around 50 yards give or take. That 1/7 barrel is designed to stabilize the heavier projectiles. Found this out by surprise- some 55's were missing the target, key-holing if they hit, or just flying apart before hitting the target.
its pretty fun seeing the poof.

Yeah, but not until you know what's happening to your shots that are minute of barn (not even barn door).
I will toss a few hot 55s I know will poof in the 1/7 barrel for fun. When im plinking . Its also fun to watch the range know it alls twitch.

These are the specs for a Mk12.

These are the specs for a 'Recce Rifle'.

The original post referenced building one of these, yet the parts list has nothing resembling these.

So thats how.

Mk12s were specific variants of rifles. “Recce” rifles are no such thing. Yes, the term originated with accurized 16” M4s for the SEAL community. But they don’t own the term “recce”. Recce rifles follow general guidelines for precision and slightly extended range in a reasonably compact package. The OP even got a 16” barrel. However, it being midlength instead of carbine doesn’t make it less Recce. Sure, it’s not officially a match barrel, but it’s a button rifled 5R twist barrel. It’ll do for the role.

Bottom line, the specific SEAL procured Recce rifle could be built as a clone to exacting detail. But a recce rifle in general cannot be cloned because it’s any rifle designed to fill that specific role. And the limited details we know so far of the OPs build indicate it could fill that role.

Just picked this up for some fun. High Caliber upper, Precision Firearms Lower. All MK12 are beautiful.
