Nice bolt-action! Any pros/cons on the Savage vs a Remington 700? I'd like to get a nice bolt gun eventually, probably in .308.

The edge is Savage's entry level bolt gun, I don't expect it to compare to a Remington 700 on some aspects. It was $250 from cabelas, that's half or less price compared to a 700, or a savage with accutriger.

What base and rings did you use?

Its a EGW base, and warne 1" low rings. I actually had to cut off one rail from the front of the base in order for the scope bell to clear at the proper eye relief.

i have one for my 1911 and one for my G19... very nice holsters!!!!

I like it so far, a lot of the gun sits over the top of my belt but it's pretty comfortable still.

I think that's the going rate for that condition with box and papers.
If S&W reintroduced them they'd sell a boatload. Instead they're focusing their efforts on copying the competitions's dubious novelties such as the Judge. Too bad.
