New Acquisitions for May 2010

I honestly don't know for sure. I looked on glocktalk and my prefix is DTD and apparently that's a 2.5 gen. Maybe because it doesn't have a rail. But I don't think 27's ever have rails.

i'm pretty sure the 3rd gens add the tac rail

Yea, I just read the s/n project thread on glock talk and got the same info, but like you said lewis, I haven't seen a G27 with rails to date, even when I was visiting FL shopping around with a friend of mine.

Just got my LTC-A no restrictions at the end of April.
After a lot of research here on NES I decided on a Sig P226 for my primary home defense gun.
P226, 2x10rd mags, 4x15rd pre-ban mags, Surefire x300, Lasermax.

Just got my new back up gun yesterday. Now I just have to find an ankle holster for it. Had to go with the Sig P232 because it's the only autherized handgun my agency will allow. I hate having the mag release on the bottom and no way to lock the slide back unless you insert an empty mag. But it's better than nothing.

Two new rifles this weekend. One is a 1985 Ruger 10/22 that I picked up from the new shop on State Road, Village Sports. The blonde stock and some other goodies will be up for sale soon because this one is for a build I've been wanting to do for a while and all I need is the receiver.

The Norinco Hunter may wind up a Galil clone project, I'm not sure yet. These rifles are rare and increase in value as long as they're in original configuration. If I run out of projects towards the end of fall, this one just may meet the drill press for a makeover.[thinking]

I am the proud second owner of this lightly used P2000SK in .40sw It came with 6 mags (various base plates) FIST holster; Tru Dot NS ; box and paperwork. Shoots like a dream with the lighter LEM trigger. Reset is not as close as my M&P though. But trigger is smoother all the way through pull. Was happy to have a coworker pass this on in MA....

Correct, model 27 is the big fotay. The model 30 is the compact .45 offering.

There's also the G36 (slim .45 ACP) and the G39 (same frame as a G27, chambered in .45 GAP, slightly thicker slide).

Gen 2.5 if you wanna get technical [smile][smile][smile][laugh][shocked]

Not exactly. The only true 2.5 gen Glocks were a limited run of G20's & G21's imported to the US right around the late 1997/early 1998 change from 2nd to 3rd gen frames; they have finger grooves & the thumb rest in the grip but no rail. They're true 2.5 gen Glocks because they're large enough to hold a rail, but they weren't equipped with it. Even 2nd gen G26/G27/G33's had finger grooves to meet the BS import requirements for such small guns (they call them "target grips"), but they were smooth finger grooves.

That is in fact a 3rd gen Glock. [grin]

Yea, I just read the s/n project thread on glock talk and got the same info, but like you said lewis, I haven't seen a G27 with rails to date, even when I was visiting FL shopping around with a friend of mine.

They don't exist on Glocks that small, not even here in sunny Florida. [wink]

The gun is not new (purchased it from a fellow NES'er [smile]), but the sight and mount finally came to complete the project...for now [wink]

New shooter so this is also my first.

Picked this up on Tuesday - MarkIII Talo Edition - loved the wood grips and the HiViz sights

Can't wait to shoot it - probably this Friday.\
