i like the back of the slide too!

Picked this up this morning. Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle. .308 16.5" bbl. Four Seasons had it. Per the s/n it's a 2013 vintage. It was pre-owned but UNFIRED. Came with the standard mag, two more polymer 10-rounders, and nice Uncle Mikes swivels already on it, all for less than I've seen a new one, anywhere. I put the Strikefire on it for the pic, but will be looking into getting a long eye relief 2 - 7x scout scope.

I've been eyeballing 1911's for quite some time now. Unfortunately, I couldn't justify any of the more expensive ones, so I settled on a Rock Island Armory 1911A1 Match.

This is the first all steel pistol in my collection. Everything else is polymer framed and lightweight by comparison. So, being the wussie that I am, I felt the need for something to help me carry this piece of heavy metal. I looked around and settled on this...

October was a good month.[smile]

Your poor kid.

"*urk* It's so hard to get in, it's really high. [...] The back window *ugh!* goes down..."

Couldn't you have held the camera for the poor guy?! [wink]

Two great purchases, congrats. I loved my RIA 1911 except that the USGI safety gave me some serious hammer bite.

(Oh, I think your son *might* like that new truck) [grin]

Finned Mosin Nagant M91 by Westinghouse from a NES'r who bought it six years ago and never fired it. Matching bolt. Very nice Finn 3 finger stock. Bore is fair with some pitting; very dirty, and counter-bored 1cm. Have 4 hours into the bore cleaning. Four bore-foams and three electrolysis hits; still black - I'll keep at it. Missing cleaning rod and nose cap screw; both ordered. Finn/SA sling came today. As soon as I can get a firing pin protrusion tool, I'll strip the bolt and try to shoot it clean. Some Graffiti on the left of the receiver. SA proof on receiver, wheel proof plus II on the stock, L on the other side.

Have added original SA leather WWI/interwar sling, and Finn two stage trigger and spring. 10 round target 100 yards light ball, 5 rounds heavy ball second target.

A minivan for a Tundra, good trade! Your son's vid is awesome and he is clearly impressed with you, and your purchase.

I have an 2007 Limited. I will be buying another late next year. While it has not been problem free, all issues have been addressed quickly, under warranty, by Toyota. Of the 6 pick-ups that I have owned, it is my favorite.

The RIA is nice too. Likely to be my first 1911 as well.

Enjoy.
