*Matched bcd4 (Gustolffwerke), k98k, December 1944
*Matched 37th series Arisaka, late fall '43, Tokyo Juki Kogyo
(Series never finished with Tokyo destroyed in the March '44 fire-bombing. SN 42402 of about 58000 produced)
These are my first revolver and first bolt action purchases. Plan to go to the range tomorrow afternoon with at least one of them. I did get ammo for the Ruger, and I have some ammo for the Savage already.
I just bought the upper from a friend -
it's a PSA with a Noveske barrel and an Odin works forearm, (the barrel's free-floated).
I milled the lower, and it has an American Trigger Gold trigger in it.
Magpul stock and a Primary Arms AMD red dot to top it off.
I just picked up the upper this weekend, put the red dot on it and sighted it in Sunday, I still have to put a dust cover on it. Which is going to be a slight pain in the butt, because I'm going to leave the barrel on; the procedure for a Noveske barrel is fairly tricky and since it's already been done competently, I'm leaving it alone. So, the hinge pin's going in left to right, instead of right to left; which means trying not to lose the world's tiniest c-clip.
Thinking about a muzzle-brake for it, but don't know very much about them. There's a gun show this weekend so maybe I'll see something that'll catch my eye.
UPDATED: Made it to the gunshow, found a compensator/brake, and put the dust cover on.
50 yards, benched, with the reddot you can see in pic.
I finally acquired all the parts to get these assembled. Gen 4 Gen G17 & G19 MOS slides with Lipsey grey frames. Trijicon RMR 07's and suppressor height night sights.

All but floor plate matched Posen Depot (XXI) built K98k using 17 different parts makers, including Imperial and Nazi. Receiver is Gustloffwerke 1941, stock is dated 1/14/42. Stock and trigger guard have shrapnel damage.
Sig Legion 226 SAO. I was not planning on buying this and originally ignored the Legion guns as overpriced and marketing hype since I have a 226 Elite. The minor frame tweaks to undercut the tigger guard and the SAO trigger felt too sweet to pass up. Put 150 rounds though this today and it is now my favorite 9mm handgun hands down. The trigger is fantastic and I really like the x-ray sights.
I plan on shooting this gun a lot. If they do a P220 in SAO as a Legion I will buy it in a heartbeat.

No pictures yet but I put a deposit on a Ruger Precision in 5.56 today. A .223/5.56 bolt gun is kind of a staple in gun collection and I have been without one for a few years. Been real happy with my RPR in 6.5 so it was an easy sell for me.
1981 7.5" Ruger Redhawk in .44 mag. Came off Gunbroker in better shape than I was expecting for $450, and then I gave it a quick polish rub. Still haven't found ammo for it yet.

Make sure you check the screws that attach the plate to the slide. Shot about 100 rounds through mine and the screws became loose. Torqued them down as I didn't want to use locktite. So far so good. Did you use the Trijicon seal plate and screws?

Yup, I used the Trijicon shim/seal plate with the proper length screws. I wouldn't have known about it, but luckily Primary Arms had a notation about using it, on their site, when I was buying the RMR's. So, I bought those as well. Will do, on keeping an eye on the screws. Thank you.
Have been meaning to pick up something in .308/7.62x51, though I really have to learn not to go browsing at tax return time. My wallet is getting angry at me.
