This happened to a good friend on his first purchase. It was a refurbished Gen 2 Glock that came with 15 round magazines. He brought them back and told the store he wasn't allowed to have them. They looked at him like he was crazy and begrudgingly gave him 10 rounders. He has big regret.

Man, this thread is too funny. This actually reminds me of something that happened to me a year or two ago. I walked into a LGS and saw a pre-owned no safety 365 and alloy 320 (both off roster) and both had the original standard cap mags included. They said they belonged to a cop so it was grandfathered and legal to transfer. They also had a galil ace on the wall which was previously owned by the same cop. I said "I'll take the ace please" and they said no, it's only for sale to LEO. I left the shop empty handed and extremely confused.

ebay is your free state ally. 2x i bought, did i say i bought? i ment a friend bought what was advertised as 10 round mags off ebay only to be shipped hi caps. oopps. i told him it was his patriotic duty to send them back, turn them over to the authorities or give them to me to take care of forever and i'd take the fall off the cliff. you're right, i am a good friend!

Could be, I have no idea. My guess is that he was either an idiot or was holding the ace for someone else. I just thought it was strange that the off roster guns with free state mags were g2g but the ace was a no go If I remember correctly I think the ace was like $1200 and looked mint, I was pretty bummed out.

What happens if a LGS gives you a 18 round mag with a new handgun purchase? It only came with a single mag. The person had a chance to see if there is a stopper in it, not even sure if that is a real thing. The shop didn't have any spare mags to buy so it is not like that can swap it out. It will be used by the person as a range gun at best. What advice can I pass along?

I bought a few of those riveted mags when I was up north. When i got down here I just drilled out the rivet.....

I cant think of a lot of rigs made for 10 rounders.

I use the small magpul 10 rounders all the time. Not on my gear, but they are fine for farting around

I kept most of my ten rounders....didn't have that many, but yeah...I still use them. Glock and AR.

If im hunting with the AR or 300BLK pistol, its easier to just have shorter 10 rounders.
