I really hope he makes the arguement that when something bad happens, they call upstanding citizens with guns (aka the police) to come in and resolve the problem. Why would anyone have a problem with having equally upstanding citizens who are already going to be on the scene (teachers, administrators, other employees at other GFZs) to have guns?
