On July 4th, I plan on making a special point to shoot my;
-50bmg rifle
-AK47
-full capacity handgun

Why? Because as a law-abiding citizen, I CAN! That's why!

I will celebrate our freedoms by firing what the gun grabing morons hate the most.

I will be hearing the Declaration of Independance read on the common at Old Sturbridge Village. Otherwise I'd be helping protest the UN by excercising my Second Amendment rights at their flag. [smile]

On the 4th of July I will say "Happy Independence Day!" to anyone that says "4th of July" instead of "Independence Day" [smile]

Excellent !!! I hate it when it's referred to as the 4th of July.

With the state of things today, I bet 1/2 the people don't even know what the date commemorates !

We dont call it the 25th of December, why do we call this the 4th of July?

Because our Declaration of Independence starts out "In CONGRESS, July 4, 1776

The Unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America"?

Now, if you'd asked about Cinco de Mayo, I have no clue. Something important for Mexicans, I think. Or an excuse to drink a lot of Corona beer, maybe.

I feel the Smokey the Bear and Santa The Clause argument coming.....

Almost forgot:
On July 4th, I plan to...
....Get Drunk.

Cinco de Mayo is a lot more important for Americans as another excuse to drink beer than it is to Mexicans. It's roughly the equivalent of the Battle of Lake Erie.

I plan on, well, doing, umm, nothing. My hubby has to study for his final on the 5th and my hand still isn't up to driving. So to me the 4th of July is actually going to be a "dependence" day.

I'll be spending day #5 with the wife's family. Relatives and Fish have something in common. After three days, they both stink.

That depends on who they are. Some of mine and my Wife's (especially my late MIL) I relished the time that I had with them.

Eventually you lose them and that is when you miss them most! [sad]

[I will agree, some you'll never miss. Perhaps I was lucky but I had more "pluses" than "minuses".]

Very true, Len. I have one brother in law who I love - my wife and I have gone on vacations with one sister's family and loved every minute. My other brother in law, now... well... I haven't seen him in 5 years. Haven't missed him, either. But I keep asking my wife when we're going to see the other set of inlaws - them, I miss.

Well...Ed and I laid floor tiles. We were supposed to march in the Sudbury parade, but we were both so damn tired that we decided not to. We slept in and then went floor shopping. [smile]
