Report: Glock to Discontinue Numerous Models

I was a .40 shooter in the 90’s and early 2000’s starting with a Glock 23, now I have mostly 9mm with a couple 10mm and .45ACP. I carry a Kahr P380 most of the time, upgrading to a Glock 43X if wardrobe permits. When I lived in a free state I carried the same two choices, but the 43X had the Shield Arms 15 round mags. I shoot the 43X very well even though I have gorilla hands. The 20 and 21 fit my hands well, but I usually shoot a 19X or 45 at the range due to ammo costs. The 45 is perfection for me.

I’d like to see Glock make a G40 Gen 5. I don’t really need it for anything, but my current Glock 40 Gen 4 shoots great but as a lefty I prefer the ambidextrous controls on the Gen 5.

I have never "gotten" 45Gap, seemed like an answer to a question no one asked.

357Sig however is something I hope never goes away, best readily available "9mm" out there hands down. For those that doubt, check out the slow-mo of the temporary wound cavity @1:28 here, no 9mm +P+++++ delivers that.

357 sig fan as well. Dont shoot much of it but flat, accurate and love to carry it in my G22 with the conversion barrel.

I like the idea of 357 Sig, but the problem is that the temporary cavity means Jack diddly unless it can exceed the elastic threshold of the tissue that’s being stretched.

Tough to justify...I just re-set up my reloader for 9mm cause I shoot it alot........its annoying as hell to me...switching between LPP and SPP......but with the time I have now and the bullets I already own tough to say no to doing it. Cause as usual....when doing this shit, now....I run out of primers.....I had sworn off small pistol primers and now I gotta buy another 1K. Stupid.
It's tough to justify anything that's not 9mm because it's paying more to get something desired, either power in a bigger gun or controlability in a smaller one.

I don't reload 9 and never will. If the day comes I have to reload 9mm as that's the only way I can get it, I will reload any other caliber before it because the advantages outweigh the one size fits all approach of 9mm that is the zeitgeist of current handgun market.

^^ This. Read the list slowly and think about what you are seeing. They are basically :

- dumping Gen3
- discontinuing all the California compliant crap that means nothing to them business wise
- Discontinuing all the non 9MM below Gen5 (10MM, 45ACP, 45GAP, 357SIG) they are probably keeping the 9MM and .40 because of the large LEO sales they have.
- If they end up releasing the Gen6 this year they will end up with a lineup that has Gen4 LEO, Gen5 , and Gen 6. with GEN4 LEO being phased out as more organizations upgrade to Gen5.
PS - Len McGill didn't discover it. Glock sent out the list to many distributors and it's been posted on their European website for months (at least the English language version)
did not see the 30s or 30sf (unless I missed them) on that list. they are gen 3 .45's.

Well, if 357Sig doesn't get what you need done, I guess you could open carry a M1A Socom ;)

I have large hands and the 43X grip still feels too small. I got a 43 frame and I shoot it very well with the flat floor plate on the mags. For some reason I shoot better with my pinky finger resting under the mag rather than half hanging off like it does on the 43x or 43 with pinky extension on the mags.

Same here, give the 26 a try. I have both a 48 (same frame as your 43x) and the 26 and I shoot the 26 better. My hands are large enough that my fingers wrap all the way around the 48 grip just about touching the base of my thumb, leaving no room for support hand contact. The larger circumference of the grip on the 26 helps even though my pinky is under the base the magazine.
