A while back I made these custom grips for my Ruger MKIII. They are stabilized burl with awesome figure and depth.
A customer then ordered a large competition cutter. These are knives made to specific rules to be used in cutting competitions. They must be no longer than 15", no longer than a 10" blade with 2" width. This one is exactly those specs.
Made of O1 toolsteel, nickel silver bolsters, mosaic pins and the same burl used on the ruger grips. Sheath is by me, as well as all work, heat treatment, etc etc. Its a sole-authorship piece that started as barstock and a block of wood. Slight recurve on the blade. Tang skeltonized to put balance point about 1.5" in front of the plunge.:
