Seven years ago today...

I signed up as a member here. I think I had two or three guns, had NO CLUE about almost all of the MA laws. Since then? Lol! Group buys, C-Pher, Atilla, Scrivener, NotTom, Depicts, Sky, Terraformer, Ochmude, so many more have shaped my politics, gun ownership, understanding of 2a, Constitution knowledge... I've made a few friends, seen shops come and go, so much more. Went through a divorce, got remarried, watched GM-Guys saga unfold...

Derek, thank you for making this place what it was, is, and hopefully will continue to be. I've had fun, spent an EPIC crap-ton of money, and look forward to MANY more shoots. Next one on my birthday I promise more exploding cake!
 
I'm coming up on 10 years myself, and amazingly, I've never been banned.

I think I'm in my seventh year as well. Lots of folks have come and gone, lots have come and stayed. Never banned, but reprimanded.
 
I had no idea the amount of crazy out there until I came across this place. I’m talking about the members. When I mention anything I see on this site I refer to you all as “gun nuts” but in a good way [rofl2][rofl]
 
Yeah... been around for a little while too. I have never been banned, but did get a warning once. ( worth it )
I have met some pretty cool people, came to realize some people I already know were members, and helped a few buddies find NES and become members. NES has changed some of my views, and reaffirmed some. My 20 something daughter has described me to her friends as right of center, but left of crazy.
I had been a gun owner all of my life, but didn't decide to get my LTC until wanted to teach my then 7 year old son about shooting, and most importantly, firearms safety. A google search about LTC requirements brought me to NES.
Two gun safes, tens of thousands of rounds, several courses, and more dollars than I would care to think about later, I consider my modest collection and hobby a legacy, that someday I hope to enjoy with my grandchildren.
Congrats Radtekk, it has been a pleasure reading your posts, especially the wedding pics post. I hope to see you in discussions for many more years. And thanks to Derek and the Mods, with a special shout out to sHORTY for keeping the wheels on and this place running.
 
Congrats Radtekk...it was nice meeting you for a couple of "road side" deals It's going to be seven years for me too...I have been helped by many...Zappa tutoring me on how to get a squib out of a revolver...the roloading thread....the survival thread all deliver....and I have been able to avoid the stupid sales channels and flip all kinds of things on here to decent folks.
 
Anybody here remember the post I did about Depicts getting busted for running a "Chicken Porn" ring?

I think it only lasted for about an hour before it disappeared.

No matter what Eddie Coyle thought............. it was my best post ever on the internet![rofl]

Holy crap, those were EPIC! So many things over so much time, I wrote and re-wrote that post a half-dozen times knowing that no matter HOW many times I did I would leave stuff and people out:(

Lol, that too! I actually met one of my longest-running friends here at the FIRST one, when I was still a member at MFL. Actually just did a gun swap with him the other day, an AR for a Ruger Mini. All nice and legal Maura, eFA-10's and everything! Shout out to YOU Kip!

And I sold the Mosins a year ago at a hotel in Boston overlooking the harbor. Two guys standing in the window of the hotel playing with the scopes to see which one he wanted. "See how well you can see the office over there?" "Yeah, that's a NICE boat!" "Yeah, zoom in a little more, she looks..." Good thing nobody could see IN to the room... Memories...

nope, the pork fat rant was. i was posting on a gun board out of Pennsylvania also at that time and they got a hold of the link for that thread somehow. they got some mileage out of that for sure. i never admitted i was posting here for fear they'd throw me off their site. lol, good times, good times. i kept that secret for 3 years.
 
I've gotten a warning (okay, just a request to clarify a misunderstanding, IIRC based on post order more than anything else).
