I recently found myself becoming the owner of a 1950 Remington 31L 16-gauge shotgun. Since I'm not a hunter and already have a shotgun, odds are this one would just occupy space in my safe.

Seems that a gun like this should be in the hands of someone who would appreciate it more than me, so I'm strongly considering putting it up for sale. Unfortunately, I have no idea what its value is as there is very little about it online and the only auctions I have seen are for 12-gauge versions.

It's in very good condition, minor scratches on the aluminum receiver but no significant gouges, bluing is intact, serial numbers match on the barrel and receiver. The stock is in terrific condition, all the way to the (bakelite?) buttplate. Barrel measures about 26" with a bead sight and an improved cylinder choke.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
