Mercedes benz stadium in atl has this

It's awesome

If you're going to a major event then you know you're giving up all this stuff anyways

Its kick ass

I know some of you guys only leave the house to operate operationally at the buffet line and never would go to an event because you're so pure and virtuos you won't support anyone but djt.

But for the rest of us who occasionally like to leave the house for fun this is pretty good

Uncalled for. Some of us (the smarter ones) just like to stay away from people.

Lol it's not

Just wait for the hardos that are about to bomb this thread about how awesome they are for not watching sports.

They are the crossfitters/vegans of the couch potatoe world
Some of us don't go to sports games or concerts anymore because during a certain "pandemic" those venues banned us from attending unless we received experimental medical care. Their owners wanted us confined to our homes and banned from public unless we complied. That is why I do not attend these events Captain Hardo. I do continue to go on hunting and ski tips, take my boats wherever I want, and do any other sport that I desire that does not compromise my moral compass based on their irrational and immoral behavior.

I am the extreme couching American League champion, and have held that title for a while now. But even tho I’m not the smartest burger on the grill, I’ve learned one thing in my 58 years: 95% of my problems come from other people. So, avoiding people means avoiding problems. Avoiding crowds avoids big problems. Works for me.

Before the pandemic you were cool with it though?

So you were ok with covering for domestic violence? Rape? Child abuse? Murder? But as soon as they didnt allow you to go you drew the line lol?

No different than donating to your local LEO. Hope you don't have a TV or a radio. All those folks do it too.

Watching sports is a waste of time. Supporting players, teams, and leagues who are doing everything in their power to take away your rights and crap all over the average citizen is completely stupid. I am so awesome for not watching sports.

I'm confused?

Its fine you don't watch sports anymore

I watch them substantially less than I used as well.

But there's always been a moral connundrum when it comes to sports. Why is covid any different

I never watched sports. I played them. Attending concerts was my only use for their stadiums. I no longer take part in that.

I don’t care much for crowds. I think the last time I was at a concert was in 2012 when a friend had an extra pair of tickets for Bruce Springsteen at Foxboro.

I think the last time I went to a professional sporting event was a baseball game in the mid 1990s.

That doesn’t have anything to do with operating operationally. I just don’t like crowds.

Edited to add: I think the last concert I had been to before that was The Rolling Stones in Buffalo, NY in 1981.

That's fine i can respect that

A friend of mine loves the "new" security features. He walks through the line with enough nips on him to get him through the game(s) with ease! He saves quite a bit of money at the same time too!

Yep. It's a feel-good measure. That's it.

Since the launch of Evolv Express in 2019, Evolv has screened more than 1 billion people. Evolv’s technology can be found in leading theme parks, sports stadiums, performing arts centers, casinos and arenas in addition to hundreds of schools, hospitals and places of worship. Evolv is committed to making the world a safer place to live, learn, work and play.

Great. Lemme tell you a story. So I'm down in Jamaica and I hire a cab. He's tooling down teh road and gets to a red light. He STEPS ON THE GAS and flies through it. I'm thinking, "maybe I didn't see it correctly." About 5 min later, the EXACT SAME THING happens.

"DUDE! WTF??? Why are you running red lights?"

"No worries, mon. My bruddah, he do dis all da time, mon."

A minute later, we are approaching another intersection. The light is green. At the last moment, the cabbie STANDS on the brake and we come to a screeching halt.

"W. T. ACTUAL F????"

"Sorry mon. My bruddah may be coming da oddah way."

You can screen a billion people. But if it's a billion people not looking to shoot up the place, you didn't stop anything. Tell me how many guns you found and how your technology catches 98% of illicit items versus conventional screening that catches 72% or whatever.

Reminds me of post-PanAm103 when the airlines hired guys to dress as security guards and walk around US airports with German Shepherds to make people feel safer. They weren't drug-sniffing dogs or anything. Just GS's with a dude in a uniform. LOL

the ultimate reality is that this will stop some obvious problem people that would have been caught otherwise. (It'll be interesting when the first racial-discrimination case comes against this thing.) But if someone means to do harm, none of this is a spit in the ocean of difference. It's all an illusion of safety. Every single bit of it.

Note that TD Garden now bans parents with small children. No effing way that parents can fit what they need for children is a tiny bag.
There are exceptions to the rule, like diaper bags. But why bring a child that young to a game that they will never remember and the hassle isn't worth it as a parent either.

It works in this state because most are sheep and believe everything that government and authority tell them!

So, you didn't watch the nail biting 2024 NBA All-Star game where the East beat the West 211-186? Yeah, me either! [smile]

For the foreseeable future, it's best to avoid crowded events, anyway.

I avoid them but not just from a security concern but because I don't LIKE crowds.

I did go there once to see Janet Jackson (then teenaged daughter). That was enough for me. Couldn't see the stage anyway despite being pretty damned close, so watched it mostly on the giant tv screen. Yay.

Usher was the opening act, but they weren't as well known then. I understand they made it fairly big later.

My company sells and installs these. When connected to the camera and access control system it works amazingly. Not intrusive and moves the crowds through the gate quickly. Will not pick up small pocket knives and allows keys wallets and the such to move right through. It will get larger knives and bigger metal objects. Close to a 100% pick up rate on guns.
