Anyone familiar with this model?

Few hundred rounds and the trigger seems a little loose, any tips on tightening it up or where to bring it?

Also looking for magazines that will go flush with the handle.

Suggestions on an IWB leather holster system?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Don't know if you just bought it or not. But if you are unhappy with the trigger give S&W a call. Thier customer service is excellent. If you just bought it they will take care of you. They also have techs, honestly don't know what thier abilities may be, gunsmiths or not. Anyway they will talk with you and let yu know if it needs to be returned or a simple fix.

They have even sent me free parts. Most recently the retainer spring for the takedown lever on my 9c went missing, while I was doing an Apex install. $3.50 part, no questions asked when I callen to order one, they sent it free, got it 2 days later. Theory there must be that spring was cheap money to get good publicity, like this post :)

Chip McCormick mags have worked well for me, flush fit, same capacity as the factory ones, no feeding issues, and they cost less than Wilson Combat mags.

I have one and it's my EDC. I use an IWB holster from Winthrop Holsters and it works for me. For mags, give Wilson Combat low profiles a try.

Do you mean "loose" because the trigger has a little bit of play? If so, that is because the the trigger is mass produced and isn't hand fitted at the factory. Mine has a little bit of play as well but it functions just fine.

My S&W1911TA E-Series trigger has NO play at all. Love the way it feels and shoots. I have thought about dropping an Ed Brown trigger in my EDC but don't think I will.

Some of your options is to give S&W a call or have a gunsmith install a new trigger.

You're better off just having a gunsmith look at a 1911. Use it as an opportunity to change out anything else you don't like about the gun, too.

I wouldn't bother sending it back to S&W, as the part they supplied is likely within spec. Most cheap 1911s (by cheap, I mean under $1000) have a trigger that moves around a little bit.

how come my chip mags aren't flush? strange, i thought you had to go with 7 to get flush fit.

Depends on the pad and such and the version of the mag that you have. CMC makes more than one 8 round 1911 mag. One of them has a screw on basepad and the other one has the thing that kinda slides onto the bottom of the mag instead.

Loose triggers are common. And S&W wont do much as stated above, they are in spec. Mine drives me nuts, but I will replace the trigger the next time I order parts.

This is why I wont own a 1911. You hear people talking about stuff like this all the time. Just buy a Glock.

There are a lot of reasons not to own a 1911, that isn't really one of them. I shot a 1911 with a "floppy trigger" for years just fine. I still own it but finally got the trigger fixed.
