They are currently in Hyannis and are going to be moving to Plymouth Today and Then Beverly on the weekend and then Manchester NH on Monday then Maine and Worcester Next Week. http://www.collingsfoundation.org/events/category/wings-of-freedom-tour/

They have a newly restored P-51 Mustang "Toulouse Nuts" now with them. Betty Jane is being stored in a Hanger in Worcester Right now and not on the tour. I picked up my son there after he flew it there from Indiana last month.

They had both mustangs on the tour in Indiana here in this photo. My son is flying Betty Jane in this Photo and Rob Collings is flying the new one in front. If you stop by look for "Pinky" my son and say hi. He is the chief pilot of the tour (Not a bad job for a 20 year old) The new mustang is amazing and everyone likes the view due to the different canopy.

Love those P 51's. It was my ride of choice with "Jane's WW2 Fighters" video game. I took out a lot of ME 262's.... [grin]

I have flown all the bombers several times. I finally got to ride Betty Jane, July 4th in Seattle when I visited the tour and the son. It was amazing. I want to ride the new one while their here in NE. But I am working non stop. I will have to stop by when they are in Manchester or Worcester.

Son still paying me back for all the aviation training I paid for with rides in the planes.

Photo of Him in Toulouse the other day. They were doing close quarters formation during a move flight

I went today in Beverly. That P-51 Toulouse Nuts is a fine looking machine. Got to see it fire up and take off as someone had bought a 30 minute ride while I was there in line for the B-17. Before landing the pilot buzzed the airport and that was a sight to see. Wish I had the free cash to take a ride in one of those P-51s. That has always been my favorite WWII plane since I was a kid building models.

In retrospect, It would have been cheaper for me to just buy a ride in in the P-51 then pay for all my sons' aviation training that got him the chief pilot job at Collings. My P-51 ride cost me about $27,000. But I also got to the ride the bombers a bunch of times for free as well.

So NHfiat, is your son looking forward to flying the spitfire when it gets there??

Yes. They are going to England after the tour and they are going to fly it there I believe. There's a different trip every year for people that volunteer at least 3 months of time. This year just happens to be England.

Betty Jane will be pulled out this weekend at Worcester and they will have two Mustangs available. Plus Betty Jane and the A-1E Skyraider will be doing the Flyover at the Start of the Nascar Race in Loudon this weekend. My son Rob will be flying Betty Jane and Rob Collings will be flying theA-1E Skyraider

They have had flyovers on previous battle for the airfields, I am told . My son is coming back from the tour to fly some of the airplanes on the weekend at the Battle.
