USPS should be abolished and everyone who works there needs to be fired.

Well USPS lost a package mailed to me this week. Says it was delivered and scanned "given to individual" 3 mins before the mailman came to our porch to deliver mail, but he didn't deliver my package. Filed a claim but not holding my breath.

When scanned at time of delivery, GPS data is included. Your local office can look it up with their internal tracking.

i worked there 10 years and its about the only federal agency that gets respect from the public. I don’t want to believe it was just because I was just good at what I did. The worst carriers were all “don’t tread on me” types who hated the federal gov. I was like “so why are you here dude?”

It’s a Catch 22. Yes, USPS is highly trusted, but they buy trust that with taxpayers dollars. Would you pay DHL, FEDEX and UPS more $$$, if you were unhappy with their service, to improve their service?

I’m sure you did your job well, as did many of your colleagues. But I’ve never had a job where the boss said I could spend 5-10% more than we make getting the job done right, year after year. I had to feel good about my work (or not) making a profit for our investors/owners.

Trusted or not is irrelevant. The USPS will never turn a profit. Over 60% of their "mail" is junk mail and if SS recipients will receive 75% of their stated benefit by 2034 should the US Taxpayers continue to drop 8 Billion to 12 Billion dollars of Taxpayer money into a failed system whose main business is junk mail.

I ordered a Fanny pack from blue alpha gear, they shipped it quickly via usps and it arrived at the Shrewsbury distribution center Tuesday morning and hasn’t moved since (it’s now Saturday)

All I want to do is run around wearing a Fanny pack so people can laugh at me but the usps is making that very difficult.

USPS can literally be an email server to accomplish the constitutional goal.

End all physical deliveries.

Convert post offices to internet cafes so everyone has access.

Use block chain for validating authenticity and protect the data under the same physical mail laws, so tampering or viewing is a federal crime.

You can reduce the size of USPS by probably 95%
You actually think , a Post Office in Nashua say, with a bunch of computers open to everyone's access is a good idea ???? Like that would be an orderly and efficient way to get mail ?? That is about as good of an idea as closing supermarkets and putting up vending machines for all food purchases. People have a hard time going to a store, which is why everyone orders from Amazon, Temu, fleabay, etc ,etc. F#ck they can't even drive to get a burger at McDonalds and you want to eliminate deliveries ? What about prescriptions, are those in a vending machine too , because a shit load of those are delivered through USPS. Or are we gonna pay UPS drivers making 50 plus dollars an hour to get those. That should keep the price down. How about not have the post office register every illegal for free PO boxes , or the homeless for the same. How about not giving China free delivery , all Ali is free. Clean it up yes, but no delivery is insane dude.

Now imagine there was a better performing alternative.

Nearly everyone has a smart phone, smart TV, or PC. The number of people who would need to use a USPS post office mail terminal is extremely low. How many people use the library for their email? Is there some sort of email access bottleneck yoyre experiencing that no one else is?!

These excuses are all hypothetical, nonsensical bullshit.

You get your scripts via email ? Maybe you don't need them yet, but if you are on any maintenance meds you have to get them shipped 90 day at a time to afford it You think UPS or FedEx delivers last mile everywhere ? USPS does last mile in the city for most of them . Clean it up yes , but it is a long way from elimination. And you think USPS is you most expensive ? Check your rates.

You are not very smart.

The purpose of USPS when the constitution was created was not to deliver parcels. Period. Nor was home delivery. Home delivery was scope creep at civil war era. Parcel delivery was added much later. Last mile after that.

The Founders didn't write the constitution so you could get your meds delivered by tax subsidies. Stop being a commie.

I'm sure the founders didn't foresee high speed printing presses, radio, television, or the internet. I guess the First Amendment doesn't apply to them.

And this is why big L libertarians never get elected. First time I ever got called a commie :)

Please expound on this argument.

Is your position people weren't shipping packages when the constitution was written? You think the Founders didn't explicitly exclude them?

Is your position that somehow it would violate 1A to revoke package delivery from USPS? You think the Founders would object to returning the thing they created back to its original intent?

My insurance company keeps hounding me to have my prescriptions sent by USPS. Nope....I'll keep going to my regular drug store to buy them. >75% of mail that I get that is tracked is late by days, sometimes late for weeks. I'll take personal responsibility for getting my own scripts.

Ben Franklin wanted it as it was the only way for the colonies to keep each other informed. Also to keep all of the military commanders in the loop. Once phones came on line we could have (should have) cut the service then.

Stop being a socialist?

Saying the government needs to deliver your medication is ridiculous. Do you need the government to change your diaper too?
It was commie get it right there big L . Why are libertarians so angry anyway? Well the UK, Germany and (drum roll ) Canada did it , privatize the postal service so that speaks well of the idea. I hear rave reviews of Canadian Post as well.

I would but I am have no choice on some meds. And they get here on time with no issues. The local post office is usually pretty good for us.

Get off your ass and drive to a pharmacy

I hope most are good at math. Say the USPS is 5 bucks for a parcel. UPS, Fed-EX, etc is 6 bucks. Which is cheaper?

UPS or Fed Ex

How so?

Well, the Taxpayer share of the 9 Billion to 12 Billion that Taxpayer dump into USPS every year will be gone and that extra buck will be the bargain of a lifetime.

Still diidn't tell me why big L's are so angry ,,,, maybe because you can't read. bless your heart.

I don't know why a big L would be angry. I'm a little L.

I do know the only people who wouod be made about returning a constitutional entity back to only its constitutionally authorized powers are socialists and communists.

I also know people who want government to deliver their medialcation are either socialists or communists.

Are postal workers muppets? Trying to ship something from Maine to Texas. What's with the bounce back from NH? TEN days later... IT'S STILL IN MAINE LOLOL

Listen, that's probably just some felon USPS employee stealing medication that was being shipped and is now high off his kite trying to figure out why the brown boxes keep asking him to drive them around.

A Port Charlotte widow is facing a heartbreaking situation after the United States Postal Service (USPS) lost her husband’s cremated remains.

Stacie Claytor has been desperately seeking answers for several days but has yet to receive any information from the postal service.

Claytor’s husband, Ron, passed away on Christmas Eve at 74 years old. His cremated remains were supposed to arrive at their Port Charlotte home five days ago, but they have not been delivered.

“They have lost my husband’s remains, and they have really treated my entire family poorly through all of this. We can’t get anybody on the phone,” said Claytor.

Claytor has made over 50 phone calls to USPS, trying to locate the missing precious package.

Claytor expressed her frustration, saying, “How about I’m sorry, how about I’m sorry, and we’re trying our best.”

Claytor feels that USPS is not taking her case seriously. She shared that a customer service representative hung up on her after she was on hold for an hour and a half.

“Please find my husband. I don’t think that that’s asking too much,” she said. “I don’t know how you can lose somebody’s loved one and just act like you lost a piece of junk mail.”

She explained that the emotional toll and USPS’s lack of empathy were disheartening, and she demanded that the remains be found and that USPS apologize.

She went on to say, “This just isn’t how you treat people, and this certainly isn’t how you treat people when you’ve lost their loved ones. It’s inexcusable.”

Claytor described her late husband fondly, saying, “His eyes would sparkle when you talk to him, and when he would just laugh. I think the one thing that I’ve always loved about him is that no matter what, we always came first, all of us.”

One of the sons flew in from Ohio this past weekend to share his dad’s remains with his mother, but they weren’t able to do that.

WINK News reporter Olivia Jean contacted the USPS for answers. The postal service told WINK News it was working on finding answers.

The tracking number for the package indicates Ron’s remains are still in Fort Myers. It remains unclear why the package was never delivered and if it ever will be.

I read recently that the USPS volume is down 80%, while their employee headcount is up 190,000...
