Well, post some military pics.

what did the nigerian do with his revolver?

1. was kinda standing there, waiting for someone to meet him from the gate. they were searching two vehicles.

2. we pulled in from a bus escort and the guys start clearing their weapons...

3. he hops in line, pulls out his revolver and put the rounds in his pocket [laugh] and the we all just kinda stopped and looked at him....

he didn't do anything wrong, it was just funny. we are all in body armor, full combat loads, magazines ect... this guy had a revolver. the funniest thing was he just put his rounds in his pocket. -at the time...

we must have joked about that for months!

I am leaving a book mark in this thread so I will remember to post pics that my father gave me from when he was in the US NAVY.

I cant post the pics I took when I was in the US NAVY as most of them were confiscated, But back in his day they let Sailors take their little cameras and he also was in charge of the retrofitting details at Mare Island and as soon as I find those pics I will scan them and upload them to my photobucket album and then post them.

isnt it great to be exposed to other countries forces? it was one of my favorite parts about being overseas. always get to meet interesting people, with interesting equipment

I agree - it was great!

Rarely did we not trade away our covers, belts, insignia, or uniforms for those of the soldiers we were training with.

Handling and / or shooting unfamiliar weapons was fun also!

It was very rewarding to find a common sense of patriotism and dedication to service with someone who lives on the other side of the world. They were proud of their country and proud to serve it - just like us!

Here is a picture of me in Afghanistan in '07. Sorry for the face black-out, but I'm still working downrange...

Here's me (on the left) with my battalion color guard at the Marine Corps Birthday Ball in 2004.

Here's me and a buddy of mine on a MK-19 range doing some pre-deployment training.

Here's a picture someone took of me after landing in Kuwait....from Honolulu. That was a long damn flight. If you've never walked through a metal detector at an airport security checkpoint with an M16, you should try it. The sheer pointlessness of it is quite entertaining. Thank you for protecting me, TSA.

On patrol in Somalia. The Marine facing with the radio is Andy in NH, I am immediately to his left.

With the 24th MEU(SOC) in the Red Sea prior to Somalia. We used to see how many boats we could break in one day.
Upon further inspection, Andy in NH is actually driving that boat.

And obviously someone has a sense of humor; Back from sweltering Somalia and straight to Freezing Alaska for cold weather training.
