What 7.62x51mm/.308 do you use/source??

Im sitting on a few cases of CAVIM .308 from Venezuela that I bought many years ago. It is nice clean bright ammo.

Apparently it is "hot" but I shoot it in a couple bolt actions and havent ever had any problems. Many recommend not shooting it in semi autos however.

It works fine in semiautos. What was/is of concern wasn't the power of the load but the sealant used on the bullets which some claim gums up the gas systems on certian guns.

I've fired lots of it (4-5000) in an M1A and 1919a4 without incident.

If you are going to reload the brass, inspect it carefully. The brass is soft and stretches above the web and the neck walls thicken after firing as the brass flows forward.

Wish I bought a couple of pallets of it back when it was $137.00 per thousand.

If I had a time machine I'd have a bleeping WAREHOUSE of ammo.

I could probably be living comfortably off the profits even if I had just bought like 50 grand worth of ammo in 2004.
