Fun day today. Loaded up 50 light 38 special rounds (3.2 grains hp38, 158 grain rnfp), 100 7/8 oz. 20 gauge shells and tumbled about 250 38 special cases.

Spent the AM loading up some “rainy day” 147 gr FMJs in 3X brass for my M1A

After the second reload of a military case I load it with ball powder and FMJs and put in in the “stack deep” section of the ammo closet
I’ll also use it in places where I can’t pick up the brass easily like run and gun shoots

I remember when I got this LC national match brass brand new from a long gone “pull-down” component sales company

Finished up my supply of 115gn JHP - time to reorder (as soon as there is a big sale these were under 10 cents)
Need swap over and do 1k of 210gn cast HP 45 ACP
And then back to 9mm for a couple of k of ~124gn coated cast HP

during my estimated 100,000 rounds or so loading 45/9 on a SDB, I have broken every part shown in your photo. Dillon always send out replacements without hassle. When the main frame part cracked, they paid to have it sent in for overhaul.

I have no idea how many rounds have been thru this press im the third owner. Went thru 2 family members before me. But from 80s. I my self have put over 20k thru it in a couple years.

Got 50 rounds loaded up for the 7 Saum

ADG Brass
Barnes 171gr Match Burners
59gr H4831sc
WLR primers

These should yield around 2800fps and will be used to start breaking on the barrel. Once I break 100 rounds ill break into the good stuff.

Was able to get out today to run first rounds down this barrel. 20 rounds fired and these are first three groups at 100 yards. I'll admit a 12# 7 Saum isn't as forgiving as a 23# 6BR but so far very pleased! Im loading the whole lot of brass up pretty mild to fire-form and get rounds down barrel. These first shots are right around 2700fps. Im shooting for a load around 2900fps with a 175 Berger.

Pleasantly surprised seeing as I just picked a low charge to start with. These are Barnes 171gr match burners, I had pretty good luck with them out of my last 7saum barrel and pretty cheap comparatively to the Berger 175 elites I plan on using for hunting rounds.

This is the second barrel I’ve had chambered by 5x5 Precision the other shoots just as good!
