Why I CCW: Tennessee woman shoots monkey who tried to attack her

There was a tragic case in CT where a womand was blinded, and hands and her face and hands ripped, off by an angry chimp. The cops took the chimp (Travis) out with a Fotay but only after the chimp had gone full medieval on her.

I thought The Monkey's were a good group of guys...

I'm always concerned that at any point in time the Chinese could accidently release genetically modified velociraptors. Imagine these running wild on the streets.

I remember that...women had it as a pet and it mauled her friend.

Truly a horribly awful incident. Everyone thinks chimpanzees are like the cute little guys you see on TV (most of which are juveniles). They don't realize how immensely strong and aggressive an adult male chimpanzee can be.

Side note chimps on average 4 times stronger than humans, read an article stating a silver back gorilla could easily lift close to 1500 lbs.

Yeah i read somwhere all those acting chimps are juveniles and once they reach "teenage" they get rid of them because they are violent and aggressive

This one of those effers that escaped from the bioresearch lab in South Carolina the other day?

We knew they were diseased but somebody could have mentioned they can run at interstate speeds!
No, those were a bunch of young female rhesus monkeys. They're staying around the center and taking food from the staff, but they can't catch them. the center's director said that they're just acting "goofy".

The news is playing it up as cute. What no one is talking about is that there's a strong chance that they'll all be euthanized after capture. I can't see any researcher accepting a test subject that was loose and exposed to unknown conditions in the wild.
