I’ve done this a few times in the past. Open to military handguns from all eras; we’ve had Civil War Colts through Vietnam era guns. Original pieces please, not clones. Shoot two “loads” of whatever your gun takes; 6 shot (12) revolvers, 7 (14), 8 (16), or 9 (18) round single stack magazines unless your gun has a higher capacity. Points don’t count, just participation.

Winter counts as any standing temperature of 39F or less in this era of global warming. It was 35 for me today and I was shooting with gloves and just as miserable as if it were 32 for my post heart attack body.

Tell us what your gun is and any relevant history along with the target. Attached is this post is a 50-foot target for you to copy and use so we all have the same target and conditions.

Today I shot my newest hand gun, a French Unique Kriegsmodell 32 made under German occupation in 1943. German and German occupied 32s are my main collection. The Unique was an improved copy of the Spanish Ruby from WWI, which itself was a copy of the 1903 Browning. 60,000 were made before, during, and after occupation - about 20,000 during. The Unique was one of 3 French 32s in concurrent production; along with the S.A.C.M. and the M.A.B. I did shoot this at 35 feet as it was my first time - shot high obviously with Aguila ammo in 9 round mags…only the FN 10/22 also has 9 round mags.

In... M1911A1 Remington and a M1917 Smith and Wesson .45ACP will be posted. Anyone know if we're doing an iron sight rifle postal match this year?

I didn’t say, but assumed, winter conditions count - like snow on the ground.

Unique #2. Returned the first one as the second mag didn’t work. Upgraded to this earlier piece for $100 and got a second mag off Waffenmeisters for $36. Much better. Same high as the other one; I aimed BELOW the target at 35 feet.

Target and snow Pics I took aren’t on the camera…phone problems

50F, but still snow on the ground. January’43 Mauser HSc (hammer, self cocking, 3rd model) with military proof. Have a spare barrel with a restriction for blanks I use for reenacting. Probably my favorite piece.

37F; dreary, overcast, soggy, muddy. 1937 Beretta Army .380. Just got it Thursday; found it in my LGS and couldn’t pass it up for $225. Probably a bring back, stored improperly with the left side corrosion. Other side is fine. Some oil, brush and cold blue to clean it up. 2 mags of Federal ball, 35 feet, low obviously. Hard to shoot with a sprained shooting wrist and the lanyard loop for a lefty.

New acquisition. Bundeswehr Walther P1 from September 1982. Near mint. “W” arsenal run through April 1992. Still matched. Found an August 1980 holster in the closet.

Little too warm at 43F, but a beautiful sunny windless day in February. 2 mags Winchester ball right, then Speer Gold Dot left. The 124s are doing more than 1200fps and 400ft/lbs.

Seriously, someone else needs to shoot. Quietest season yet.

Guess no one’s shooting pistols. Practicing for job qualifying next month. 124 gr ball. Holster draw double tap weak strong hand 10 feet. 30 feet front 90 180 draw. Then 50 and 75 for the hell of it. 47F, lots of mush.
