if they can get on him illegal possession, that negates the self defense doesnt it? Even though its only a misdemeanor?

The prosecutor started grilling him on the fact that he hadn't told his version of events prior to his testimony.

I think he's doing well. The Prosecutor tried to get him to say he intended to kill. And to his credit he said he just wanted to stop the threat.

me neither, and watching the prosecutor question him about AR-15s being a big black rifle "that shoots full metal jackets with intent to kill 30 people" boils my blood.
No offense, but I do not know how people do not understand this. He could have been illegally possessing a bazooka and if he justifiably used it in self-defense, his illegal possession of it does not negate that defense.
If he commits an armed robbery and then when threatened uses the arm in "self-defense" that is not a defense.
They just keep trying to trip him up that’s all they can do…

If he's found not guilty the media spin will be that the judge did everything in his power to help the defense. I wouldn't be surprised if we see more rioting over this.
