17-year-old arrested in killing of 2 people in Kenosha

Background check sure. But are you prohibited from hiring someone with a record? Are they prohibited from seeking licensure?
You have to pay for a Cory check to apply for a plumbers license in the State of Massachusetts. And a licensed master plumber can only employee Journeyman and apprentice plumbers.

I understand they do the check, but is it binding on the employer that they cannot hire a felon? It sounds like it is POSSIBLE for the person to get the license even with a record. Just more difficult.

Different thing, but at the ski hill we were required by the state to do cori background checks on any of our employees that interacted physically with the public. I was not allowed to hire people that came back with violent offenses like assault or sex offenses. Possession charges and things of that ilk were at my discretion.
Maybe the plumbing licensing works in a similar fashion.

Simple provocation,
or provocation with intent?

Not in Wisconsin.

ETA:
In Wisconsin,
if you troll someone with the intent of making them attack you,
and then you shoot them, you can't claim self-defense
no matter how far you run before you pivot then bust a cap on them.

This is how I expect the jury to find him guilty. A lot of them will believe that just by being there he started the events that led to the shootings.

I don't believe that, but can easily see a jury believing it.

There have to be at least a couple sane people on the jury who aren’t worried about the backlash. I’m thinking either acquittal or more likely, hung jury. If it’s a hung jury, I’d be amazed if the judge doesn’t declare a mistrial w prejudice due to prosecutorial misconduct. Also, if it’s a hung jury no one will [should] know who the holdouts were so they should all be safe from the mob.

I think it’ll be a hung jury. Then in will come the DOJ to press federal charges. It’s how we roll now.

The State will not give any plumber license apprentice or otherwise to a convicted felon. A Master plumber cannot hire a plumber without a license. A master can hire a person as an apprentice but that person must already have a apprentice llicense or apply for one. When the application goes in they don't get the license.

Then maybe the light from rioters' burning bodies
would have yielded better cell phone video.

Yeah but Rosenbaum died with a powder burn on his hand meaning he had his hand on Kyle's rifle when he was shot.

Depends on the actual text of the actual jury instructions.

Which were last seen being a topic of negotiation,
and probably still subject to revision before they're read to the jury.

Which paragraph is that in response to?

I don't actually know a whole lot of felons, at least knowingly, but the couple I do know seem like fairly nice people. That's a shame.

Boilerplate laws that don't account for individual circumstances are bad laws...

Here we go...

I'm sure that's par for the course in any high-profile trial, from both sides. We all know how brave the internet makes us.

I'm not worried about his "children." He's 75. If he even has any, they're probably in their forties. Old enough to take care of themselves. Unless, of course, he's one of those oldies but goodies who found a really young trophy wife...

Remember, the left is not going after his right to defend himself, the plan is to go after your right to defend yourself.

Bingo, they know they are losing on the gun grabbing front so they instead are trying to turn guns into rocks by attempting to redefine self-defense from a scenario where one survives to one where even an armed person bends over and kisses their a** goodbye. If you even think about using the gun you go to jail.

(As was pointed out here or on Instapundit blog),
he's not even a conservative and/or pro-gun.

He's ostensibly heard more homicide trials
than any other judge in the state.

Yet when Donks try to cancel him,
he may still be staring at a jumbo-sized red pill on a silver platter.
