3 Gun NE schdule for 2014 please contribute

Pemi this Sat for me too, however my AR is not in I'll have to borrow one from a friend, here is the round count from the MD and some info (it does not appear they use slugs;

from the MD: I don’t have final round countsbut most matches are covered by:
· 150 rifle
· 50 pistol
· 25 bird
· 10 buck

No limits on rifle mags – mostuse 30’s, some 40’s. You can have a sling to carry the rifle around ifyou want but it is not used during the match. You will need chamber flags– you can borrow some if you don’t have any.

Might I suggest making a running list of matches such as they do on Benos:
http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=182537
I think it makes it easier because anyone can just go to the last post and see the current match list.
Maybe someone can chime in if there is a special way to set up the thread such as pinning it and linking to individual match postings.

Just an idea.

good idea dave i just dont have the time to keep editing it maybe some others can post the matches are out there not a lot of them but they are there

Ok, I'll give it a shot!

How about we call this “Action 3-gun, 2-gun, rifle or shotgun match calendar?
Since many here are interested in action rifle and shotgun in addition to 3-gun I have included some of them here.

So this is what I have gotten so far from this thread. The idea is to copy and paste this schedule with each new post with updated match information. It’s always good to list; 1) the type of match, 2) The club name, 3) the club location (city & state) and a link to the match information. I will try to keep this updated but anyone can update it. The idea is to just keep a running list of matches not an in depth discussion of each match. If there is a separate thread for a given match it would be good to add that thread as a link here.

Pemi Sat 6/22?

Thank Dave great job. A friend (who has experience in 3 gun) and I shot in Pemi yesterday. what a great match. this a combined idpa/3 gun match. It was a nice cof and we really got a chance to test our shot gun and rifle skills. the match was highlighted on stage 3 with rifle shots at 40 to 50 yrds at bad guys hidding in the trees (their down zero was a black "kevlar"shield so you had to shoot them in the head or the balls, this was followed by a run up a small hill and take a mimium of 3 h8ta each om 100 yrd steel from a standing position.

nice match for beginners and experienced shoots. Pemi holds these matches monthly.

Sounds good. I know there has been discussion about pemi being IDPA based and I think as long as anyone going knows that up front it's a good thing. While some can't take the IDPA stuff, others can and almost any shooting is better than no shooting!

Nuke8401 I have only been to 1 Pemi match but at the safety briefing Sat, it was about 90% 3 gun shooters. We had 1 IDPA (pistol only) guy in our squad. the 3 gun guys did not wear vests or had to follow strict IDPA rules. As a 3 gunner the only thing that was IDPA about it for me was the scoring. I actually like that better than USPSA scoring. As an experienced IDPA shooter I still used cover when I could I guess that was instinctive. We did not have to follow strict cover rules or reloading rules.

BTW on the way home I got pulled over in Ashland NH for speeding. My buddy and I had 2 semi auto Beretta shot guns, 1 Stag AR and 2 semi auto handguns and lots of ammo. I was going 38 in a 30 mph zone. One gun case was in plain sight in the back seat. I almost shi&* my pants. I was all "yes officer, no officer, I was coming from a fish and game club officer (not a gun club)". I got a warning no search. Also after he left I remembered I was wearing a Sig Sauer Academy Hat.........well that's all I have to say about that!

What do you mean by this? Are you penalized or not? Was "tactical order and pie slicing" in the course of fire? Where is the rule set posted?
we were not penalized. the cof did specify several stages where we used tactical sequence. I do not remember having to slice the pie.

come to think of it I do not remember anyone in my squad getting a penalty. 3 gun was like uspsa with idpa scoring

If the course of fire can be shot at the shooters discretion, it may be worth a trip. Toss in the IDPA style, not so much.

If tactical sequence is specified and not enforced, that's a problem.
Did the RO/SO stay with the stage or travel with the squad?
If they traveled it would hard to be consistent squad to squad with a COF rule that was not enforced by at least one SO/RO.
Hopefully someone can provide feedback to the MD. Not trying to tell them what rules to use just if they are going to specify something in a COF it can't be ignored by the RO/SO as it will likely makes the match unfair. If the MD tells the RO/SOs to ignore it then why put it in the COF in the first place?

That might be a real good clue, do they call them SOs or ROs?

I think you guys need to go up there and try this, my buddy who is far more experienced than me in IDPA or USPSA loved it. But it was definitly SOs, and they traveled with the squads. the next match is the 27th. I just cannot get into the details of the rules on the net. it was first my first 3 gun

If a match says they use a particular rule set, they should abide by it, or, state the equipment rules are Blue Ridge, but, other rules are not. That was what we are trying to clarify. I do not shoot IDPA, and am not familiar with the all the rules. My equipment is legal for USPSA and every 3 gun match I shoot, which include some of the major matches. Also have been on the FNH 3 Gun staff the last 2 years and will be this year as well.
July 27th? I'll be in Pa, shooting the Colt 3 gun team match.

TheQuag,
We're not beating up on you we just are trying to get a good idea of the match/rule set before "investing" in the match. For me it's 200 miles ($100 in gas round trip) one way.
I think as more people go to the pemi match we will have a better idea of the match and ruleset.
Thanks for the info so far.

David I understand, I dont feel beat up. I get on this forum late and peck away on my tablet so Im not as verbose as when Im on my computer. I can see I confused you guys. I'll get a better descrption frm theMD.

right now all I can give you is my impression. and for three guuners its 3gun uspsa rules with IDPA targets and scoring.

however some of the COF specified tach sequence for targets of equal threat. regarding equip they were loose with exception of safety we had to use flags. this match is like aclub match with some local rules I liked it

Dave and Dan I got an email with more specifics for the rules at Pemi.

They use Blue Mountain BRM3G rules with a couple of exceptions, scoring is done via IDPA and they consider a red dot an optic so they do not lump in the red dots with the iron sights

I hope this helps sorry for the confusion I will be going on July 27th to the next match It would be nice to meet up with any NER members, let me know if you are going

regards

Frank

PS I got a Pdf of the rules if you want to see them PM me

Frank,
Thanks for the info. If they have a recorded set of their rules, a link to them would be great. Or even post them here.
I can't make the July match, I'll be in Pa. shooting the Colt 3 Gun 3 man team match. Their August match is the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, so, that's up in the air.
Thanks again.

The sign for Rod and Gun Club Road has fallen down. If coming in from 7A, take Buck Hill Road 1.3 miles and the club road will be on your left. If coming in from 7 (East Road), take Buck Hill Road .6 miles and the club road will be on your right. There is a sign on the other side of the road for the Hale Mountain club, but it is hard to see.

Got 2 stages in Pemi today before we got rained out or should I say flooded out. Was a nice shoot, I got to shoot my new AR all went well

Thanks. We now have 24. See you there.

I'm thinking about it, any place I can safely tie up my dog? she's a small lab.

A dog hunting is one thing, with a handful of shots. The constant shooting at a match might not be the best idea. Besides, the shotguns are a bit lower in the sound department than higher pressure pistols and rifles. Just a thought.
