I wanted to see what people would suggest for a 308 round to fit my needs.
The rifle is a 308 AR with an 18" barrel. Intended target range will be within 150 yards, and most likely, most will be within 75 yards, so I want something that will be effective well inside of 100 yards. The short barrel will reduce velocity somewhat, which will help, but I'm thinking a heavier bullet that's designed to expand at higher velocities would still be best.
My current round is the 180 grain Remington Core Lokt, but I seem to be getting poor accuracy with it. My groups are about twice as large with the Core Lokt than with cheap ball ammo. I would like to find something that groups at least as well as the cheap stuff, but with the short range knock down power that I need.
