A couple times.
I had the DOR seize every penny I had, just to say "that appears to be our mistake..". Eventually I got it all back, 10 days, and that's with no access to any account or credit card. I got the money back, minus the bank fees for the DOR seizing the accounts in the first place.
Had a check clear with a couple extra zeros, made a phone call, bank credited me the funds "pending investigation". Never heard back so I guess they worked it out. Either that or there is still a 15+ years long investigation going on.
I know it's harder if you are scammed and allow a charge. A family member got scammed for $40K (he's older and has memory problems, should have cut off his access to his account earlier). What makes that difficult is that legally he did authorize the e-check, so the bank's options are limited. By the time the bank could legally do anything, the money was gone.
So ya, I've had my issues, I dealt with them. They go much quicker if you push through the process and not bitch about how unfair it is and how much work it is. Both are true, but it does no good when you're goal is fixing the situation.
