An idea for a target

That's clever! Y'know, I have sawhorse brackets just like those, except mine didn't come with the extra vent hole.

his windage was on point. The elevation was ...... just a bit outside..... But hey, 600 meters. IMHO - that's no joke.

I had a similar idea, but for .22s at 50y. I drilled 1" deep holes into a saw horse's cross bar and bought a bag of tootsie pops to stand up in the holes. Great biodegradable reactive targets.
that is the original purpose of this stand. Shooting lollipops at 75 ya with the 22

I have clay holders that I use too.

Shooting them with a 22, we always get 2+ shots per clay. It's usually 3 shots on each clay.

When you hit the middle the middle just pops out and leave the donut. Then if you hit the top of the ring, it leaves the bottom part for a follow up shot.
Here's a pic with all the middles hit first.
This is how I usually end the session with my son.

Please ignore that I had these clay holders mounted backwards in this pic. That's been fixed, and that little red tab you see is now on the back side of the 2x4.

I used piano wire to hang a steel a few years ago. My son's friend who couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat managed to sever the wire on his first mag.
