ATF E-Forms Submission wait time

I just got the email that my Form 1 was approved! I'll have to wait until after 6pm tonight after the eForms comes back online from maintenance to download my stamped application.

Submitted Jan 3rd, Approved May 28th.

That's 146 calendar days, or 101 working days
Awesome. I'm glad to hear that. [thumbsup]

In all my excitement I didn't scroll to the bottom of my email, which has a PDF of the form with a stamp on it.

So am I correct in assuming that this is the only form I will get out of this, they don't mail a copy with a real stamp?

That is correct. Electronic only.

Shame on me for not posting earlier. I saw your post, and was going to say "Hey, check your attachments," but I thought, "Surely he didn't miss an attachment. Maybe his is different (than my 4 electronic Form 1's)." What was I thinking? Sorry.

I've posted that question here, myself, without an answer. I'm assuming that's it.

*And there's the answer. Thanks ScottS

It was a PEBKAC issue [smile]

I'm building my SBR from a lower that's never been FA-10'd. I'm assuming I'm going to have to do one upon completion? Do I do the FA-10 under my trust name?

Your suppose to FA-10 once complete.
I don't think you'll be able to put your trust name in the FA-10 since your name is under your license number which will already be filled in, and i don't believe it can be changed.

Ok thanks. I wasn't sure if the process was the same for a standard AR build. It's my first SBR. I never took care to notice if there were any designated areas on the FA-10 for an NFA items. I wasn't sure if any red flags would be raised when I put in 10 inches for barrel length. Lol.

Another question: On the FA-10, do I put "XXXX TRUST" as the manufacturer, since that's what the ATF required to be engraved, or do I just put Spikes Tactical?

I realize I may be overthinking this, but it's been a long process and I want to get it right.

I may be wrong on this, but the way i see is your the Manufacturer of the SBR, which is required by the ATF, but your not the manufacturer of the lower receiver which is what Massachusetts is probably looking for. Although that might not matter either since the manufacturer of an 80% lower would be the individual, i think??

In my instance, my future SBR lower was already fa-10'd at the dealer when i originally transferred it, so i don't believe i'd be changing that??

Not correct. You are the maker of the firearm, not the manufacturer. The ATF Form 1 is an "Application to Make and Register a Firearm." There is a separate block on the form for "Original Manufacturer" and one that says "Type of Firearm to be Made."

How this affects MA and FA-10 stuff is beyond my small brain.

Alright so I just dug out some paper FA-10's. There's a section for make. I'll enter Spikes Tactical here. In the section for model, I'm going to enter ST–15, since this is what I entered on the form-1.
Basically I'll be filling it out as a standard FA-10. There's nowhere else on the FA-10, I can see, that would require me to give any additional info for an SBR or NFA item.

SUCCESS!
The first sale and transfer of an NFA Item @ Acme via e-Forms was printed today.

Looks sweet. I love the Ferfrans brake, use it on my Tavor.

I called the ATF today, worked with Verionica, Christina Farris, and Gary S. One of my pending items is invisible to me in my e-forms login, but they assure me it is in the system and will be processed. I submitted end of Feb, and they gave me Aug for ETA.

Thanks. I heard good things about the Ferfrans. I actually bought the brake about 6 months ago. Hopefully, I'll test it out this weekend. I'll probably run my Micro T-1 with some Magpul flip ups. I threw the Eotech on for some quick picks.
Hopefully your stamps come through sooner than August. Aside from the tech problems, the processing for the e-forms, once received by them, seems to be quick.

I'm very interested on how that FerFranz runs. Does the recoil impulse change when u put on the brake cover?? When watching videos it looked like there was a hair more muzzle rise when it was put on versus off.

IMO, the brake works better w/ the cover off. With the cover on it simply pushes more directly rearward, muzzle climb is minimal. I think that's due to the weight addition to the front end as well. It really is a great product.

Nope. Gary S. basically said "whenever it's fixed"... i wouldn't make any recent plans. They'll probably have a developer overhaul the whole system.

yeah i am holding off on future NFA shit just because i am not tickled pink about waiting up to and possibly over a year for my shit (again). i can swap uppers on the SBR if i get bored, and i can use the can on everything 308 and under. ver-sa-tile.

i had high hopes with the eform filing. all that talk and reading on other forums that it was taking about 90days for the eforms. Now all im hearing is that it is going to take basically the same amount of time as a paper form. Im coming up on 3 months waiting and i probably have atleast 3 more months too.

I hear you. I finished working with Gary S., they resolved my duplicate / missing control number issue and should be crediting me back one submission. I told him I think e-forms has great potential, and look forward to seeing it active again. Wait times I was told on the phone for Feb/Mar submission is July/Aug. A lot of that has to do with big e-forms influx, and training additional agents. Maybe they'll all be on staff and ready to go for the next e-forms active in 2015 [wink]
