Looking at kerosene and wood - maybe both:

2 x 100lb cylinders of propane won't last forever on a campstove. A few 5gal cans of kerosene and plenty of twigs & branches might extend that some.

Wood is outdoors only - so late Spring - Fall use. The kerosene stoves appear to be indoor possibilities - with the window cracked. I'll test with a CO monitor.

I have a two burner Coleman propane and the adapter cable for the larger bottles. Two 100 lb cans of propane wouldn't last forever - but they would last 200 hours with both on full and 1,400 hours with one burner on low.

I have a Coleman too with adapter. When we lost power for three days I cooked on it with one tiny (16 oz) propane bottle and it was fine. I have gone a full week camping on one 16 oz bottle too including boiling large pots of water to wash with, etc.

You might want to look at the Solo Stove for a wood option. There are 3 sizes.

If I had wood and was considering a long term no supply situation, I think I'd stay with the propane burners but get a Dutch oven so I could do some baking with coals.

Rocket stove for outdoor cooking and boiling water to drink. They are very easy to make and can burn anything like yard scrap.

Jason.

I have a Coleman Dual-Fuel cooktop - Coleman Fuel or Unleaded Gas, pumps up pressure like a lantern, burns like a propane stove.

What are you going to be cooking? Is this for power outages or post collapse? If you already have thepropane then I would just go with wood and skip the kero. That much propane would probably last a year or more if used judiciously. What do you have for back up heat for that long?

When I go motorcycle camping, I take one of those every time. Take it out, fold out the legs, light. Still have one I bought in 1982: rebuild kit is a few bucks.
