I went down to this store tonight while I was down in MA. Great store! Very similar to Cabela's but a much easier drive than going down to East Hartford. Check it out if you have a chance. Lots of great stuff in there.

I wish we had one up in NH. Freaking Cabela's is taking FOREVER to get here!!! :(

I hope you spent some money there so we got some sales tax out of ya[smile]

I tried to see if C-Pher was around the gun area but apparently he wasn't working tonight. Lot of guns there though. I give this store a definite thumbs up, it's way easier to get to for me than going down to Hartford. [grin]

Hmmm. I may not go Friday, then, since I won't have a ton of time. Maybe Sunday, if I'm not too tired.

I was there tonight and I got some hiking boots and a pair of binocs. The gentleman who helped me select the binocs was very helpful and I'm happy wif my purchase. Same for the woman who brought out the boots. Took out two sizes to help me figure out which was best.

I was also looking for some two way radios which I couldn't find. I'll probably buy them on line.

I like it there, realizing it's not cheap, but it's clean and pleasant, and the service is good. It's worth a few extra bucks to not have to shower when I get home.

i might go again sunday, i got 100$ GIFT CARD and got a bunch of hunting stuff... its an AWSOME place..i was talking to a kid at the gun counter and i asked him about the glock mishapp and he said they sold 41 or so guns, and they got them all back and were fined 1500$ per gun..... owch.... they do have a rubber blue GLOCK there w/crimson trace laser grips tho! :) hahhaa

I think I'll pop in early Friday afternoon on my way to the cape.

If you go after 4:30, I'll be there.

Nope, not last night...but I'm there tonight...as is Snowjoker.

I was there last weekend and I bought Honey Maple Ham jerky. It was like tongue-kissing God himself.

You should try the Buffalo. Not Buffalo like spicy, but real Buffalo. DAMN! That's good stuff right there.

I'm there Sunday...plan for it to be busy.

For some reason, they don't have them in two places... They are down in the Marine area. First Floor, under the gun counter.

[rolleyes]

I really hope that you are joking.

+1 for that Christopher guy at BPS he treated my wife with much respect, she even wrote the management about him and was told "Christopher is a valued employee".[wink]

Greetings to all -

I've been planning a trip out there for quite a while now. You'd think any "day trip" in Massachusetts would be easy - since you can drive accroos the whole state in less than 2hrs (east to west). But you throw the kids in there, wives / girlfirends, busy schedules.... and here you have it.... 60 days and counting.... for a place less than 30 miles from me! LOL

Well, it looks like my buddy and I will be heading out there on Monday (4-14-08) to blow some cash on ammo and to browse.

I support my local gun shop(s) - however, an occasional purchase outside is warranted, especially to save some cash on bulk ammo, a hard to find piece, special sale ect. ect. or anything NOT normally stocked at your local shop.

You might give them a call about the bulk ammo. I was there last week, didn't really see much bulk ammo. But of course I wasn't looking for ammo at the time. A couple of NES members work there, they'll correct me if I'm wrong. Still a fun place for first timers.

thanks Squeeze......

i should have worded my "bulk" to something else....

for example:

my local shop(s) has a sale on 9mm Blazer CCI for $9.99 / 50ct. Box. right now, this is the best deal available accross the board.

.45 ACP prices are similar (or) lower at my local shop(s) as well. I did the math. This is more of a field trip, with hopes of finding an obscure managers special.

Any day I can go to a gun store to browse I a great day! LOL.

Between Dicks Sporting Goods, Wally World and hopefully BassPro, I can make an occasional trip for "large QTY" purchases of ammo if they have sales....

otherwise, I'll continue to support my local gun shop(s) - which stock 80% of my needs - the rest is split between "big box" stores and online.

gotta love caplitalism.....

the only think I have noted for bulk is the UMC yellow box specials for 9mm .40 .45 and .223. There around 150-250 rounds boxes depending on the caliber. I have picked up a few .45 boxes and the quality is always pretty solid never had any ammo related issues. Has anyone there noticed any 7.62X39? I keep meaning to look but i always forget

Bass Pro 1st visit

My buddy and I went down today... We both picked up a few supplies. The staff was helpful and friendly. We browsed the entire store for at least an hour. We are now planing a fishing trip!

Funniest thing we noticed is that they have a bar inside the store........

I'll be going back soon to bring the kid and girlfriend as well.

Nice store - worth the trip if you live within 75 miles.
