Bass Pro Plans Store in Foxboro, MA - 2007

Has an open date been announced? I read on another thread that they have crazy deals on 10/22s - they were on sale for $140 elsewhere in the country a couple weeks back.

Somehow I doubt that Bob Kraft would approve of a gun shop on his property!

The stadium rents out up to 50K sq ft of space for trade shows. I called there 1+ year ago to find out details to pass on to Carole as a potential replacement for the late, lamented Foxboro gun shows. They told me that someone would call me back . . . never happened! I'm sure that I know why, too!

He has the permits and bass pro will be selling long guns and all ammo call them yourself. They open in Nov 15 2007, I got a card in the mail telling me the grand opening.

I hate to say it but this is going to kill local dealers near them, even fourseasons! Bass pro is going to beat ammo prices hands down, they just order so much it cost them less so they can sell for less.

Any specific date on the East Hartford Cabelas?

Nope, and I actually just called the customer service to ask, and the nice lady on the phone said that there has been a ton of calls coming in, and the only info she has been given says Fall 07' The Oct. date is from an article I found, but now the link is dead. If you find the Cabela's in Hookset thread, I pasted the article in there.

There not looking to open a store here in Mass they couldn't get the tax cuts that they wanted! Bass pro did becuase of look at were they are building the owner of that land got the inside hookup at the state level.

None-the-less the Governor made the following statements:

"Patrick praised the Kraft family for developing Patriot Place, and welcomed Bass Pro to Massachusetts."

"Economic development is not just a key feature of our administration, it has to be a key feature and element for all of us," Patrick said.

"I don't do all the stuff that is supported by the products that you sell, but I look forward to learning," the governor told Bass Pro Director of Conservation Martin MacDonald.

Any volunteers to teach the governor how to use all the stuff that is supported by the products Bass Pro sells? I wonder if he'll make a similar declaration when Victoria's Secret opens up! L.O.L.

Chris, So when you get this job at Bass Pro what is everyone going to do at the gun shows? Where can we leave our stuff while we're seeing the rest of the show? How are we gonna get the low down on the good tables? Just kidding around good luck and hopefully see you at Marlborough.

Don't worry, I'll never stop working the Gun Shows... That's going to be made clear when I start. That Six weekends a year, I won't be able to work because I'll be at the shows.

And thanks for the luck. I know of one other person on this board that might be the GM of the Firearms/Hunting department. So I'm pulling for that person to get the job...

L.L. Bean and Bass Pro opening soon

C-pher is keeping us posted about Bass Pro Shop which opens on Nov. 15.

L.L. Bean at nearby Mansfield Crossing is scheduled to open the next day on Nov. 16. The inside information is that L.L. Bean will be open 24/7 until Christmas. Mark your calendars. You can easily visit both stores in the same day. I will try to get a new photo of the progress at the Bass Pro Shops for everyone to see.

Here is the latest photo of the new L.L. Bean store taken a few days ago. The exterior appears to be completed. All that is needed is the huge sign. Many of the interior walls are already up.

There is a pond out front loaded with small bass, but security won't let you fish there. [sad]

What will they be selling for firearms? Ammo?

From what I have heard, no firearms or ammo at this store. [crying]

I will double-check with my source next week and let you know if my previous statement is incorrect.

Um, check this out.

http://northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=24520

They said that they will have a minimum of 1500 firearms. Mixed with Pistols, Rifles, and Black Powder firearms. They have approval and sign off from the FPD for Black Powder Storage, so they will be selling true Black Powder. As well as 777 and Pyrodex and the like.

No Black Guns.

As for Ammo, they will have it.. Pretty much what you see on the Web Site. They don't know yet if they will offer the same Ammo specials that they sometimes do online in the store. They also don't know if now, because they have a Mass Ammo Sale License, if they will ship to MA as well.

They do plan on selling and Buying Used Guns. Then just don't know how it's going to work as of yet. So it might be awhile before we see used guns in Bass Pro.

But If I have my way...many won't even see the glass shelves. LOL! Just kidding......kinda.

LL Bean does NOT sell guns, ammo or accessories in any NH or MA store that I've ever been in (Manchester, Nashua, Burlington, etc.). Clothing for hunting, yes . . . anything else not PC, NO.

I do understand that their Maine stores still sell some firearms/gear, but I've never been there.

Last time I wasin the Freeport store they had expensive shotguns IIRC. It's been a few years, though.
