Not today start casting next week if i have time then go from thereGoing to try the hi-tek today?
Found a doe on my property with a head shot it was small hope that's not why they left it. Been alot of people in the woods accent to my property but walked my property with the dogs and found that with alot of foot prints across a fence but not postedAnother couple of days of deer season and it’s back to casting. Waiting to extract the round from the deer I head shotted last Saturday. I’m curious why it didn't exit the head.
Lead opens faster unlike coated but causes a larger impact area as it travels so slows fasterAnother couple of days of deer season and it’s back to casting. Waiting to extract the round from the deer I head shotted last Saturday. I’m curious why it didn't exit the head.
?3 parts pure to 1 linoHave a bunch of lino type what's the blend to pistol bullets 3 to 1
I get so stingy with known alloys!Have a bunch of lino type what's the blend to pistol bullets 3 to 1
Yes plan on hi tech was going to start with ww this week. Waiting on a new thermometer can't find mine in the hoard. I have a hand held but tend to run hot when I use itI get so stingy with known alloys!
I would push it 5-1 with a touch of tin if the alloy doys not fill out the mold well.
Are you coating them ?
Depends on the pistolHave a bunch of lino type what's the blend to pistol bullets 3 to 1
Mostly 45acp but don't know what else. Pretty stocked up on everything else in fmjDepends on the pistol
45 acp can be done with almost pure
9mm and magnums need a little more hardness
3:1 will likely work in both - especially if coated
45 ACP is fine with very soft lead with a good lube or even better when coated.Mostly 45acp but don't know what else. Pretty stocked up on everything else in fmj
Nice looking stuff do you notice any difference when coating with different colors. Or pretty much the same.
They look great to me!!I had planned to cast bullets this morning and was going to use a second pot I got at the casting seminar. The second pot is a 10 lb Lee, but it allowed me to continue casting while the other pot got new lead and heated up. I did the six cavity MP 9mm no lube groove 135 gn. I made about 1000 bullets or so.
I got a better groove (no pun intended) going later in the morning and I think these came out pretty good. This was also the first time I didn't burn myself!

Finally those fuzzy animals have stopped taking all your time.View attachment 951538Working on some 45ACP. Coated 18 pounds.
10lb pot is a good feeder pot for a 20lb bottom pour.I had planned to cast bullets this morning and was going to use a second pot I got at the casting seminar. If only my yard was big enough. Finally those fuzzy animals have stopped taking all your time.
Switch to farming. It allows for more casting and sitting in the cold. I mean uhhh less hunting. View attachment 951547
Guinea pigs.If only my yard was big enough.
I've seen some setups where they have it drip from the 10lb to the 20lb pot, but I don't really want to have a pot of lead 6 ft up. I currently have the main pot at 5 ft so I don't have to bend over when filling the mold. I will create a second station for the 10lb pot so I can essentially swivel to that one. I had it on top of a 5 gallon pail just to see how it would work.10lb pot is a good feeder pot for a 20lb bottom pour.
