you can push caast to 3000 fps just need like a 1/28 twist barrel. For your common lead alloys you need to keep the rpms around 120,000 and max out around 140,000

Rossi made a run of lever guns with a 1:30 twist rate across 3 or 4 calibers.

Powder coating is another option. It's not difficult. It can be done with a plastic container and some plastic pellets to create static electricity and a cheap toaster oven. Lots of info on the cast boolits forum.

Rifle barrels can be made in any twist rate,
Off the shelf mass production AR barrels , not so much

At subsonic speeds the bullets shouldn't be shedding lead but they will throw lube which will crap up your can.

Coated should perform just like jacketed

That's my plan now. Coated, plated, or jacketed only in AR with can. No plain cast with lube.
