Crap? I can honestly say I've not bought any crap. Most if not all of those C&R purchases were very good firearms. I guess one man's junk is another man's treasure.

A lot of milsurps to me are old crap. There are a lot of gems too, don't get me wrong... but things like lugers, loise clapped out 1911s with horrible sights, a whole metric shit ton of bolt guns in weird calibers nobody uses, etc, don't do anything for me. My interest drops off sharply once i get past an M1 Garand or an SKS.

Sacrilege I say!!!! [laugh]

The only C&R I actually sold down the road was a CZ-50. That thing had trigger slap so bad it would leave a bruise on your trigger finger.

You mean guns with shitty barrel twist rates, etc?

I guess its cool if you want an early m16 like clone.
Exactly!

I really just meant the default is 50 years + wicked cool, so stuff that was OTC during some of our lifetimes is becoming C&R. You kids will understand eventually.

I have half a dozen M1 Carbine clones including a Vulcan. All that is likely C&R now.

Just thought I'd mention my experiences dealing with the ATF. I had an 01FFL from 90 to 99 and never got a call or visit from ATF. I let it lapse for a few years and then decided to get the 03 FFL. I think it wasn't more than 6 months later I get a call from guess who , and they want to meet at my home to check my storage and bound book!

I probably could/should have refused the home visit, but I didn't. I can't remember now who showed up or even whether it was a male or female (I'm old and forgetful 😄) but the visit lasted 5 minutes or so, no issues, and I never had another call in the next 8 years I maintained an 03 FFL.

I got mine when I lived in MA. Brownells doesn't discount as many items as back then. I did get some garands and ammo from CMP shipped to my home. I don't know if they do that anymore. I encounted some FFLs in MA that would not transfer a firearm on the C&R list to me as an 03. I just added them to my ever growing NES boycott list. Karma--they long since shut down. I use it more often now that i am in a free state. I did buy one of those little bound books from Amazon. It made me feel made!
