Deals and steals

Bummer won’t ship to MA.
As the new Monstrosity anti-2A law takes full effect, methinks we need an NES list of suppliers who now refuse to ship to Massachusetts... and I don't mean just ammo. Ammo is the least of our problems from this crazy new unconstitutional law.

And a list of those that do? Or do we not publicize those except in the super secret groups?

Origin is having a 20% site-wide sale. 25% on denim. 40% on last chance discontinued stuff. I just bought my 2nd pair of boots from them on clearance, the Lincoln Boot.
Great products, all are 100% USA.

I'm just interested in not wasting time... 'cause I don't have that much time left. Nothing is worse than shopping a firearms-related website and making your selections and then finding out that Maura's new crazy law has scared the supplier into halting all sales to MA. Just happened to me again yesterday. And no, I am not talking ammo or PSA.

Lord knows I am no member of any NES super secret group. No one would have me. I'm just trying to get a handle on where not to waste my time... no more, no less.

Yes I'm replying to myself. Power move.
Down to 264$ shipped because free shipping today
Carbine gas lengths are a few bucks cheaper

Good minds think alike!
I got an email about the free shipping and hoped the Aero deal was still on and it was, so I had bought one (mid gas) just before seeing your post.

I bought a couple of these just to try out, and wow, these are legit indoor cameras. And for $15?? I don't know how this is possible.
TPLINK is a legit company. They made great wifi extenders back in the day, that's why I was surprised to see their indoor cameras among amazon's top sellers. Very easy to setup and works seamlessly with TP's own app or with Google Home. You can subscribe to their cloud service or stick in a microSD for local recording. I would've paid easy $50 for this. I've already caught shit happening in this house. Gamechanger.

FYI, blink cameras are like $5 more and can sync with their doorbell cameras and spotlight cameras, turn on motion detection and get text notifications from your doorbell and motion sensors. You can also get pan/tilt options for the blink cameras.

$5 more you get this. Same thing but with 360 tracking. Still get motion-detection, two-way audio communication, zone settings, local or cloud recording etc.

I just bought a few of each. How do you set it up with Google home? Will it store on Google home or just view?

I have Nest Outdoor cameras for home security and subscribe to google's cloud storage for recording. For these cheapo indoor cameras, I just stuck a cheap microSD card so it can record events. So I use google for outdoor and tapo for indoor. There are better cameras out there, but if you just want simple dirt cheap cameras to try out, I'm vouching that these are a good deal.

But blink cameras are so lame. I just want to record motion events and not be notified. And use third party software to access the camera and not the stupid blink app. And be able to view the camera live for longer than 30 seconds or whatever the stupid timeout period is. And record to an SD card.

I’m not sure if you’re using an ancient blink camera. The current gen (which is all I have experience with) can record motion events without being notified. You can also view for longer than 30 seconds. You can also save to an SD card. The only issue you listed that blink can’t do that I know of is using a third party software. I use blink as home security/doorbell/babycam/spotlights..etc. It’s nice to use one app to do everything. I don’t have anything against the tp-link stuff. Just giving another cheap option that has worked out awesome for my needs.

Haha! I just went with the same combination, except I'm getting the 10.5" upper, instead. Unfortunately, living in RI where all NFA items are illegal, I'm thinking of getting a fake suppressor, so as to get a similar look to what you ended up with...just because I love the look!

I recommend Guntec. They make "slip-over-barrel" fake suppressors that look like a full can but only add 1.5" barrel length.
I did end up going with a Guntec fake suppressor, as you suggested, but a little different version than you had in mind. That, combined with the PSA lower recommended earlier in this thread, mated with a 300 BO PSA upper, and a few other embellishments, yielded this:

Finished up the "build" yesterday and had it out to the range today; and after a handful of rounds to get it sighted in, this was the result of my next 20-round target at 25 yards (using a Vortex Strikefire II Red Dot, and the forearm of the pistol supported on a rest):

Looks absolutely amazing. PDW with the angled foregrip, fake stubby can, daniel defense grip [mg] 👌 👌

Which blink cameras have on board sd card slots? I have a boxy looking indoor outdoor one, an indoor ptz one (which I got within the last year so I didn't think they were ancient), and a couple of basic ones (those might be "ancient") and none of them have an on board sd slot.

After 30 seconds of viewing my blink in the app, it prompts me to "continue?".

I asked on here if blink can record without sending notifications and someone who seemed like they knew what they were talking about replied that they can't. I couldn't figure it out myself so I just use those cameras where recording isn't necessary.

I have older blink setups but I beleive the sd slot is on the sync module. You can snooze notifications while still recording in the app. I don't know how long you can snooze it

Like someone else stated, the sd card slot is in the sync module, which is nice only having to buy one SD card vs 10 for every camera. Also makes it stupid easy to look at the videos since they’re all stored together.

The continue after 30seconds prompt is only for free accounts. If you pay for a plan you don’t get asked to continue watching every 30 seconds. I just use the free plan as I’m not bothered to hit “continue” if I still feel like watching. I’m usually only watching a 10second or so video so I don’t run into that often.

The notifications can all be setup easily in the settings menu in the app.
Hope this helps 👍🏼
