Now, I wasn't there (thank goodness, since I hate crowded cities and NYC in particular), so I don't know what happened to precipitate that, but how do we know that something crazy like a bomb going off in a trash can a few hours after another bomb went off in a trash can in a neighboring state happened and he thought the people in the street could be in imminent danger didn't just happen?

Or he could have just been an *******. It's NYC, so it is far more likely than not that he IS, in fact, an ******* (or Yankees fan, tomato/tomatoe, potato/potatoe, whatever), but there is some room for reason there.

I really don't want to come off as defending the guy too much - because New York - but any person smart enough to tie their own shoes and read the latest news on our upcoming presidential election can be certain of the abject stupidity of the human race. At least 50% of the human race make imbeciles look like ****ing Einstein.
 
Not to get off topic but the role of the PD is to CONTROL the situation first, foremost and always. As a general rule when the police show up - I leave, it is safer that way.

If the followers of The Religion of Peace really want to screw up the US; blow up a few polling places on the east coast early, and plant more in other cities across the country - that will throw the election into chaos and perhaps 'suspend it'.

An explosion in New York City's Chelsea neighborhood that injured at least 29 people appears to have been "an intentional act," Mayor Bill de Blasio said, and a possible second device was located several blocks away.

The mayor said that although investigators believe it was intentional, there appeared to be no link to terrorism.

The cause of explosion has not been determined, said New York City police commissioner James O'Neill.

There is no credible threat to the safety of New Yorkers, the officials added.

Hours after the explosion they know it is intentional but not terror related.
