Glock Perfection is up to Gen 5 now and Gen 6 is right around the corner. You bought an obsolete gun - the patents are so old they're expired. Yes got hosed. Coulda gotten a Ruger RXM for $50 less - same gun, better trigger, optic mount built in, steel backup sights, not lego plastic.

It's not on the shelves yet? Maura historically has loved Ruger products and let MA subjects buy them. I would just wait a bit longer for it to get certified on the two lists, including the super duper secret list. That said, the OP being from MA and scoring a brand new Gen 3 Glock for $400 is a steal. Those things typically fly off classifieds for $800+.

Some queers will only buy the newest generation Glocks because they think the new factory color or whatever justification Glock uses for a new “gen” will make them shoot better. I’ll take a gen 3 all day if the store has one in stock.

PS - the wear on the frame is caused by a uniquely formed holster that match the contours of the gun. No big deal.

The 5s are nice though. Mag release is a lot larger and i like the front slide serations.

The mag release is actually a drawback for me because I don’t use them except when cleaning or assembling. For reloading I learned by racking the slide. It can be a hair slower, but less chance of a fumble.

I do concede your point that it’s a better design though. The OG slide release on Glocks is practically useless.
