M3 grease gun turned in to my friends PD

never seen one with that type of cocking method... usually a lil lever on side, or a hole in bolt for finger.

check to see iff in the nfa registry, if so they can sell it.

At least they turned it in and didn't get caught without a Form-4.

Won't hurt to check the NFA serial number registry. If it is already recorded, a new application might be in order.

If not, it can be donated to a museum, with a tax deductible benefit for the general value of the unit. Or, it can have the receiver cut with a band saw (no need to do two torch cuts, as it is not imported), and demilled. Then it can be sold as a parts kit.

If it was my town I'm thinking hopefully they'd be at the range playing with it.......just hope the bastards invite me if it ever happens. :paul:

i'll take it. tell them to just hand it over and to not be dicks about it.
maybe if you say please

He said it will be put through its paces. If he's cool with it, I'll post video when he sends it

I can see the cops face as the person turns it in "HOLY SH#& that's awesome!.....err I mean, uhh thank you ma'am we will dispose of this horrible weapon immediately"

There is something wrong with this sentence but I ain't gonna it, NOPE!

But, back to business how about the Collins (sp?) WWII military museum up in Stow?

i'm in a free state and don't need one. i got first dibs. [wink]

honestly finding a machine gun in your house is like winning the lottery, you just have to celebrate more quietly.
I didn't think anybody needed a license to own a machine gun or any other NFA firearm. You just need a license to sell them.

My understanding is that an individual owner has to fill out all the required ATF paperwork and pay the taxes and it has to be signed by the CLEO where you live. Since the majority of CLEO's will not sign the ATF forms most NFA regulated items are purchased using an NFA trust because the trust ownership does not require CLEO signatures. So do the paperwork, pay the taxes, pay the trust lawyers, and you can own a machine gun.

of course IANAL and I do not own any NFA regulated firearms so I could be wrong.

in MA you need a license to own a machine gun.

with a trust or LLC you do not need fingerprints, or CLEO sign-off, correct.

you do not need to pay a lawyer for a trust that will work for form 1s or form 4s.

I have a shelter for all battered firearms. Please deliver it to me at once, before the poor thing becomes homeless.
