Just a random pre ban thought.

A rogue actor in RUSSIA could easily write a script that would REGISTER endless makes models and serial #'s there by crashing the database by overflowing the resources and/or creating a massive resource sink.

I wonder how well penn tested that site is anyway...
Assuming said actor hacked login with LTC# and PIN.

WTF is the world coming to?

I had one once for many years, and to be honest it's a thought I've been having for awhile. It's a wonderful design with rock-solid reliability, even though it has all the appeal of a piece of charcoal.

I had also thought about getting one in case my kid took to it.

Certainly it needs to have a concrete meaning before it becomes a law. It can't be passed as-is.
Oh, but it can. The whole point is to make it impossible not to become a prohibited person..

And then the next lesbian, I’ll just reinterpret it that means something it doesn’t

The imagine in my head of you holding 3 FALs and an AK just vanished :(

I still own a bunch of those, too. Not to worry.

I got the AR because it's configured like the one I shot in Basic, because it was a really great deal, and because it's a nice Colt I might be able to flip in the future. Not that that's really top of mind; mostly, I was pretty motivated to do a trade, and the AR is what I ended up with.

I'm taking it out to the range on Monday; I've had it about six months, but getting it out hasn't been a real priority for me. I've already got plenty of mags because I shoot a Daewoo.

Let's get down to the real reason (not monetary) why people keep asking about grandpersoning. If their shit is grandpersoned, they don't have to make the hard choice- they can keep talking tough but wipe the sweat from their brow and go along their way. If they're all of a sudden forced to choose whether to disobey or not, that's an impossible choice for a lot - and they will be forced to choose. There will be lines of "come and take it" guys ready to hand in their shit for a $50 gift card.

The worse it looks from a legal perspective, the better it looks for the Supreme Court to have a better chance of punking them.

Who cares about all this gun crap. We can still get hookers and blow. So MA is keeping our safety in mind. And you won't even spend a minute in jail when caught unlike the 20 years you will get for that lower you bought from Reptile.
I hear that are things you can get from reptile that will be getting you for a lot more than 20 years [laugh]

It’s mine. I paid for it and it was legal at the time.

Now you want to take it from me..?

Laws and all, read them. You swore an oath to uphold them and you are now not going to?

Thus I consider you a traitor to the US and the Constitution.

To the gallows with you all (anyone who swore and oath and supports this bill).

Edit: to add the italicized

Didn't the state already release records on gun serial numbers registered via FA10 or through a gun dealer to what license number? I remember going through the list and figuring out what the state knew I had, and what they didn't.

So - it seems license numbers have already been publically disclosed. All you need is the pin. If a license number (publically known) and a pin are all required to log into the site, your typical script kiddie could get in under someone else's license in minutes...

We've released our initial summary of the bill, now S.2584.

PDF warning:

re: grandfathering section.

I understand it's confusing and makes no sense by design, but what does it mean exactly?

If I'm reading it right, if someone bought a stripped lower and never built it or FA-10'ed it prior to Reichmarschall Healey's 2016 unconstitutional BS, then it's magically a machine gun or assault rifle?! And ANY rifle that accepts standard capacity mags sold after this magic 2016 date isn't grandfathered?! How many X95's, SCAR's, etc., have been sold in this state since Jul 2016?!

This is goofy as f***. Why not just throw every LTC holder in prison for 5 years?! I can't imagine a court or LEO's interpretation of this. Very scary.

We do not know… stay tuned.

No. I've never been banned, and to the extent of my knowledge - no one ever has been banned here for having a different idea or political disagreement with any admin, and I've had a few... This is one of the few places where free speech still exists.

What would have led you to believe such?

Love this little gem

  1. License Expiration Notice to Law Enforcement (Section 26)
  2. • The department of criminal justice information services shall send electronically or by first class mail to the licensing authority of each such license to carry firearms a notice of the expiration of such license not less than 5 days after the expiration including the expiration date of the license and the name and address of the licensee.

Let your license expire? Didn't renew in time? State taking too long to approve?
f*** you. We're coming to your house for your guns and ammo

Eh guy. Nothing to worry about. The law says they have 45 days to turn your renewal around. Give yourself 46 days and you'll be fine..... right...... right.....
