Massachusetts Rifle Association - Woburn, MA

A chair wouldn't put you high enough, but there is a stool you can use. There's a rifle rest floating around usually as well.

are people allowed to video tape shots?

It's done at the MRA steel shoots, which are run by one of the directors, very often, so I would say video is allowed.
BTW, most clubs that have rules against video have them to ostensible protect the privacy of others on the range at the time the video is recorded.

Question about MRA Steel shoots. I can't find the schedule for the event. I participate on one of the Steel shoots and love to participate on the upcoming one.

The current schedule goes out to August, until then it is the first Sunday of the month.

Anyone know how long the wait is for trap on sundays? I know its 10 bucks per round but is there normally a large wait? Also if you are a member and bring your own shot is it still 10 bucks?

I've always assumed it was, I swept it last night around 11:00, but it was mostly my brass.
Massman, can we get a ruling?

It is an all volunteer club. You should police your brass as it is one of the rules.

If you feel like giving the place a sweep or emptying the trash then go right ahead. Very few people do and it is always appreciated.

We are so busy right now that there is often a wait. The way we are trying to run the sign up right now is that you are allowed to sign up for one round (25 shots) prior to AM (the official start time) after 10 you are allowed to sign up every other round for as many as you would like.

You can not bring your own shot. Steel only. It is my understanding that the club is operating the clays at a close to break even price point. Take a look at what 25 rounds of Kent Steel cost these days and add 30 clay targets to that and I think you will find the price quite reasonable.

I did my written test, range test and interview today! Passed everything with ease.test was pretty easy, lots of common sense stuff and knowing the rules for each range made it pretty simple. got my key pass and am excited to start going on a regular basis. now to find a good source for reloads....

Welcome! I was there for a while todayl If I knew..I could have distracted you and made it a little harder, lol. j/k

Missing or shots that do damage could have consequences. I would laser sight it and then take it to the range with the sight / optic you intend to use.

the club should do fireworks on the fourth!? or let people do them?

Last time I checked fireworks are illegal in MA unless licensed. I doubt you would get the board to approve it. They are funny when it comes to illegal or unsafe activity on the property.

Found the information on this post very helpful. I am heading to the club Sunday morning to check it out in person. Based on what I have read/seen I think it will be a solid fit and hopefully by Monday morning I will be on my way towards membership.

As I've stated many times, MRA may not be perfect, but for my needs there's no better club. Welcome
