Looking for a dot for my optics ready 365XL.

I am probably overthinking this and will just order the Holosun 507k, but was interested in what the hive had to say.
I will not buy a dot that requires you to remove it from the slide to change the battery. I wish the Sig red dot didn't require removal.
Not looking to spend $700 bucks on a dot.

Tell me what I missing. Recommendations of where to purchase welcome.

Yes I know that Holosun is made in China. So is my iPhone and the Lenovo computer I am typing this on. Yeah, it sucks, I know.

Holosun 407k/507k, EPS Carry, or Romeo X Compact. Just depends on visual and feature preference, and budget.

The Holosuns offer fully loaded versions with solar cells and circle dot reticles, or you can go cheaper with just a dot reticle of different sizes. I like the cheaper dot-only ones. Battery life is good enough that the solar cell isn’t a concern for me. I don’t even know if they can power the red dot with no battery or not.

Sig has a very poor record with pistol dots, but the Romeo X might be good now. It’s at least a good looking optic. Just note that there are both open and enclosed versions of the Romeo X Compact. And in product photos on websites they both look the same if you can’t get a rear quarter view. So make sure you look in the product details.

Thank you. I like the circle - dot option, so 507k looks like it will work for me. This will be my first dot as well as my first carry gun with a dot, so we will see how it goes. My eyes aren't getting any better.

Just remember to not give up early. It takes a lot of reps to retrain your muscle memory so you present with the dot in view each time. It could take a few months of practice.

507k is awesome but so many options out there. Osight just released two, one is enclosed as well. Multi reticle is great.
That is a very interesting dot. And very competitively priced.
Generally, Olight makes some nice stuff. I would have to think about the whole "rechargeable" red dot and do some more research.
Can you just leave it on the gun and attach the charger? Or do you have to take it off? How long does a charge last? The website says up to 70,000 hours, but is that how long the battery is good for? Or is a single charge good for up to 70,000 hours? That seems like forever.

Will hunt down some info and reviews. Great tip though. Thanks!

I've shot a few dots before and I know what you mean. I suspect that once you are familiar with the dot, muscle memory takes over and you acquire the dot quickly when you draw and present?
That was specifically why I thought the circle with the dot would be beneficial for a rookie? Or does it not matter?

Tools & Targets had a review on the Osights which I thought was helpful. The charger is cordless so no reason you couldn't leave it on in the safe to charge.

No opinion really on the rechargeable vs. standard, I like that its easy to check the battery level which you can't do with a standard battery.

I would go for something enclosed so either EPS carry or Romeo compact. Makes cleaning dust and lint easier. The Romeo is supposed to sit slightly lower.

I’m currently waiting on a Romeo in the mail also for a p365xl because I hate combat hold irons.

Training is king, I felt confident I could find it reliably after one day session of pistol training. I need more training with it as well and have signed up for the modern samurai training in CT in July. Three days total, 1 day AIWB and 2 days of Red dot pistol. I think that will probably do the trick. :)

Never had a problem with that, use a lens cloth like you use for your glasses and get in there with it no scratches or issues. Soft tip qtip to get the corners. But the enclosed dot does seem like a very nice option too.

I have had several different red dots on rifles for many years and have an Adco Ultra dot (from the ninety's) on my ruger mk2 I used for bullseye. Recently I mounted a Holosun 507k on my Sig P322 and absolutely love it.
Been debating whether to get the Holosun SCS for my gen5 G19. I won't be putting one on my P365 carry gun for a couple of reasons but I love having them on range toys. Whichever one you choose, I'm sure you will enjoy the experience once you get use to finding the dot!

When I bought my 365xl, I also bought a 322. I figured that way I can shoot a ton of 22, with what is almost the same pistol, for short money. Both are "optics ready"

The Sig dot has some cool features, and it looks awesome, but I just can't buy a dot that you have to remove to replace the battery.
Maybe it's not a huge deal.
I love that you can still use your irons because it is notched just like your rear sight.
I like that it exactly the same width as the slide.
I like that it has the same texturing as the grips.
I mean you have to admit, it looks mint.

I meant the newer Romeo-x with the side mounted battery.

I had a sig dot at first, hit the concrete floor and that was that. While I'm sure it's a good dot it's just not good enough for EDC I think.

Did you happen to order one from Europtic too? I placed an order in December when they had a really good deal and it’s still on back order. I called them today and they said they have 40 on backorder and dont have an ETA from Sig.

I love 407k's

But really you need to try some and see what works best for your eyes

Ive had a 407 on my carry gun (sig macro) got about 2k rounds and 18 months of daily carry

Now i do work from home but i hike 2+ miles every day

Chase a 4 year old around

Have done multiple construction projects

Short of being on duty in some form or fashion it would be hard to beat on a gun/optic from a carry perspective like i do

Over 1000 miles hiked in mountains and canyons

And 4 major renovations done

Looks fine...dot is bright no scratches

If your eyes pick it up... its a great dot

Yeah. I'm gonna go with the 507k green dot. Just to many stories about Sigs products to ignore. It's a shame...

But THANKS @chris_1001 !! You are the man!

Started with the 407 which worked great but the 507 was so much better for me. 407 is collecting dust will put it on another pistol soon.

nice product, but they shamelessly want $330 for this thing. it is a trijicon territory money.
i just refuse to pay more than $200 for any chinese crap out there.
then don't, but the RCR msrp is over $1k but can be found for $700, the holosun is 2moa red dot msrp is $388 and can be found for under $300 but with holosun if I opt for the circle dot version I get solar back up auto brightness and multiple reticle choices.

This is what I have on my 365X, I definitely like the green better than the red, my buddy got me one for $200 so it's pretty cheap money. I do despise that it is a Chinese company but have to admit it is pretty nice.
