I am a resident of CT with a CCW. Have non res Ma, NH, FL. Am I correct that I can only purchase handguns in persononly in Home State?

You are mostly correct. You can buy handguns out of state FROM A DEALER (FFL01) and have them shipped to a dealer (FFL01) in your state, subject to what ever (if any) restrictions CT has. You'll have to pay the shipping and transfer fees.

You can buy long guns from an out of state dealer and bring them straight home.

In any case you can only buy firearms out of state from a dealer, no person to person sales unless it goes through a dealer... UNLESS you have a C&R liscense and the firearm qualifies as a C&R.

Any handgun purchase outside of your home state must go through an FFL in your home state.
