Aha. Amazingly enough for all the guns I've owned I've never owned a Ruger 10/22.

Yup! I pulled it out and "fixed" it with a dremel the day I bought my 10/22.

Stock on the right, modified on the left. Opening up the heart shaped hole allows the bolt to release automatically when you pull it back.

Not everyone is comfortable disassembling their guns past a basic field strip.

The MKIII really isn't that hard once you've learned the sequence of it. I know a lot of folks have removed the magazine disconnect from theirs which makes takedown easier but I haven't done that to mine. I've put a Volquartsen sear and spring in mine and added a Bushnell TR25 red dot and that's it. I've taken it down to nothing enough times where I don't need to go find Youtube videos anymore to do it.

Nope, not a gas block. It is off of a rifle though.

Nah the end of the slide doesn't have a tapered extrusion at the end of the slide and Sauer 38h don't have external extractors. I'd go with the HSC as well.
